What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?

We wake up, get work, go back home and rinse and repeat – or at least it feels that way sometimes.  In truth, there are a million moments in between where we interact with others and we can’t help but wonder what folks will think about us once we aren’t showing up, perhaps once we are gone. Some very thoughtful members of the community share their thoughts on this with us below.

Let’s be real, people are going to say whatever they want, however, I believe they’ll be some common themes amongst people about me. These will include saying I was genuine, lived authentically, tried to give my best in whatever situation I was in (even if it might not have fit other’s standards), enjoyed life, loved fully and wasn’t a hater. I just hope people understand that I just wanted everybody to be their best and go for it all. I motivated people because I believe we all have another level to get to at all times. When I’m gone, I hope people say, “Lara? Oh yeah, she was basically sunshine in overalls, and probably had a duck under one arm.” I want people to remember that I made them feel completely loved, hyped up, and accepted exactly as they were, whether they were winning at life or having a meltdown over a spilled coffee.
