Story & Lesson Highlights with Zay 2x of Detroit

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Zay 2x . Check out our conversation below.

Hi Zay , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Yes, The process of making my latest project. “REALISTICALLY SPEAKING Vol: 3” it was a period where i just felt like i needed it to be out asap , and taking my time with song writing, promo , and just the overall was the best decision i made because the results made me feel real proud and if i would’ve rushed i don’t believe i would have got the same results

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Zay2x , i am rap artist from the eastside of Detroit I’ve been rapping for about 4/5 years my brand is “REALISTICALLY SPEAKING” and its basically a reflection of keeping it real with raw authentic vibes from rap lyrics , to morals , and to merchandise.I have clothes such as hoodies , shirts, and hats for both men and women i am still building but so far it’s coming along pretty well ! My website is also in the works and should be up and running soon also

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to want to be in the NFL , i thought i was the fastest , toughest , sweetest player ever but clearly god had different plans for me . Now i put that energy into music and found a new love for that

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
When i began expressing myself in music, i used to be pretty closed off and just dealt
With my issues within myself then i went thru a situation that really put me in a dark place , rap was the only thing that made me feel good about talking about my problems without judgement i was always good with words but it made me feel good just being in the booth and the responses i was getting from my peers made me wanna do it more because it was so many people who related to me and my situation

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My dad, he’s always been there for me, a real example of what a real man is real thoroughbred type dude . He showed me morals ,and how to maneuver out in the world some of my closest friends and family members look at him as a father figure also he showed me how to be a father to my kids forsure

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
Not going full throttle behind my dreams and aspirations. I go 150% in everything i do especially my goals just letting time pass by or wondering “what if” would drive me crazy going for it and taking risk is pivotal
