Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brittney! I am the owner/creator of Belita Glow. I make soap, coconut soy candles, perfume oil, body creme, room sprays, incense, AND body wash!! I am now a one stop shop for all body care/smell good things! My specialty so I have been told are my body cremes and the candles. The candles are extremely long lasting slow burn and smell like NO other. Quality is top tier! The other best thing about Belita Glow is all of my products are made vegan/organic made with sensitive skin in mind! I wanted to be my own Bath & body works, except with products that are NOT harmful to the skin/body. I take pride in what i create and why it is created.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
For me personally bonds that were broken were due to a lack of care, and or the jealousy they could no longer hide. The only thing that might can restore a bond is taking the initiative and the acknowledgment to MAKE it right. Simply by showing you care. Care enough to fix an issue instead of just letting the bond go. To me, that means you never really cared.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
None of the questions were as specific as I would like it to be BUT, YES! The topic of struggles and resilience got me. This past year I had to have an emergency surgery and after the surgery I had to have a temporary colostomy bag. I was told I would have to have an ostomy bag for 8/10 months. I was so heartbroken so scared so angry so lost and just confused. I went through a very difficult mental process. To only be 35 and have to learn to live life with an ostomy was devastating and embarrassing. Long story short I stopped working and while I was dealing with my mental health and wanting to give up… i kept praying! I sat and talked with God ALOT!! I praised and worshipped. I quickly found motivation! I pushed through my emotions because I know that God will test your faith and HOW you handle things thrown your way. I was determined yet and still to prove doctors wrong! In the midst of ALL of this my mom passed away a month before my surgery!! But i kept going! I came home and worked diligently on my business! I made content about my situation as I made my candles. I give all glory to God because that is the ONLY way to describe how I got through when i really wanted to just give up! He blessed me and healed me and restored me! Amen!!
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Rocky Badd, she’s a rapper from Detroit. Her resilience her truth her transparency her values the way she cares. Her personality, and how open minded she is. When i really took the time to listen not to her music but to her actually SPEAK! I fell in admiration. When she goes live and has deep talks with her fans about life, loyalty, spirituality, growth. I pay attention and i drop everything to hear her!

Yes, because being integral is most important to me. Anything that i make/ create I care deeply about how i do it and WHY i do it.
