We’re looking forward to introducing you to Japri Anderson . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Japri, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Engaging in meaningful conversations and connecting with like-minded individuals has a profound impact – it’s as if time stands still, and we’re able to tap into our true selves. Through these interactions, we’re invited to explore the depths of our own potential, confront our limitations, and emerge stronger. It’s a journey of self-discovery, where we become more at peace with being misunderstood, and instead, focus on the path that aligns with our purpose. For me, this journey is about healing others, but also, crucially, healing myself – and I believe that’s where true growth happens.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As a multifaceted individual driven by a passion for youth empowerment, I’m the founder of Litty Kulturalization – a mobile fitness organization that’s more than just a program, it’s a movement. At its core, Litty Kulturalization is about cultivating confidence, resilience, and community through sports, fitness, and music. We’re a reflection of our belief that every young person deserves a space to discover themselves, push boundaries, and thrive.
My journey – from athlete to musician to coach – has shown me that true strength lies in vulnerability, growth, and connection. Litty Kulturalization is an extension of this philosophy, where we prioritize healing, self-expression, and collective uplift. What makes us unique is our holistic approach: blending fitness, music, and mentorship to create a culture of support and innovation.
Currently, we’re working on expanding our programs to reach more youth in Jackson, MI, and beyond. Our goal is to empower the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers – and we’re just getting started.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful is actually rooted in a painful experience – a breakup that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was the catalyst for my build-up. Being forced to rediscover myself, I poured energy into reigniting the passions and strengths I had lost amidst the noise.
That journey led me to holistic wellness and fitness, and I knew then I wanted everyone to experience this sense of empowerment. Becoming a massage therapist and founding Litty Wellness Spa & Lounge was a natural fit – healing is in my nature.
Using music as my voice, I’ve shared my story of overcoming challenges. Now, through Litty Kulturalization Magazine, I amplify others’ stories to inspire our community. Blending sports, music, and empowerment, I’ve coached youth football, create scores for athletes, and speak words that uplift.
As a certified youth fitness coach, my mantra is clear: we can’t forget about the youth. They’re our future – and I’m honored to be part of their journey.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that success never could – it showed me that if I’d never suffered, I would’ve never led back to whom I truly am. The doubts and pain became fuel for my mindset shift: ‘I’m betting everything on ME, and I’ll prove them wrong.’
I realized that those who wanted to see me fail were never with me, and I don’t hate them – I pray for them. I’m here to heal, grow, and share that growth. But I removed myself because I couldn’t dare not love me, not anymore. I won’t let others keep dimming my light.
That pain became my power. It led me to do the work, to find my purpose. I cut off toxicity, distanced from those who didn’t support me, and connected with strangers who became my tribe.
Now, with Litty Kulturalization, I’m sharing my story – and inspiring others to do the same. It’s a reminder that if that’s who I used to be, that’s what I used to be. But who I am now… only my Litty Kulturalization family and a few others truly know. And that’s enough.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to empowering others through holistic healing – it’s a journey I’m dedicated to, no matter the timeline. I believe that touch, connection, and fitness are fundamental to building resilience and strong minds. It’s not just about physical health; it’s about cultivating balance in body and spirit.
Through Litty Kulturalization along with Litty Wellness Spa & Lounge,I’m passionate about sharing these natural healing resources with our youth. Music, massage, and fitness are core components of our approach – they’re powerful tools for therapy, growth, and self-discovery.
That’s why our sponsorship tiers are designed to support individuals in a holistic way, offering massage sessions, personalized scores, and fitness packages. We’re blessed with these gifts, and it’s our responsibility to share them with others. I’m committed to this mission, and I know it’ll be a lifelong journey – but that’s what makes it worth it.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Can I give everything my best, even if no one ever praised me for it? My heart says yes, every time. Most of my work happens in the shadows, in those dark moments when I’m struggling to find my footing, when no one’s around to clap or cheer me on. But that’s where the real work gets done.
My gift isn’t mine to keep; it’s for others to flourish. I plant the seeds, and others reap the harvest – that’s the cycle of life, and it’s beautiful. Knowing that my efforts can change someone’s trajectory, that my pain can be someone else’s purpose… it’s a thought that fills my heart with joy.
It’s bigger than me, and that’s what keeps me going. Even when I’m broken, even when I doubt myself, I keep pushing forward. Because I know that someone, somewhere, will find their strength in my story, their hope in my struggles. And that’s all the motivation I need.
