Story & Lesson Highlights with FME Giovanii of Detroit

We’re looking forward to introducing you to FME Giovanii . Check out our conversation below.

Good morning FME, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Always, my favorite saying is “what’s slow is for sure and what’s fast won’t last”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is FME Giovanii I’m a recording artist and engineer. My brand is inspired by my sister “Giovanni” who overdosed and ended up losing her life. My goal outside of getting my music to the right audience is to keep her name alive. My passion for music started young when my grandmother who is a minster had me singing in the choir that later led me to use it to express myself

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a very quiet introverted shy person before becoming who I am now

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes plenty of time especially recently with everything going wrong. I won’t act like I maintain this ultimate poise like I have it all figured out I’m human the only thing that separates me is that that I won’t quit because I genuinely believe this is my calling and I’m passionate about it

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Seeing my vision through to the end and making sure all of them are straight financially and mentally

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Doubting myself, the biggest fight of my life is with me my emotions and my thoughts which holds me back at times
