We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rodd Evans. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Rodd, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time that I felt true joy was my recent birthday this year on August 19th, 2025. I spent it in Chicago with family, friends and I took some me time to reflect, thank God and prepare for what’s next.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I currently film as a main character in multiple independent films in Detroit, MI. I have 2 movies loading in Detroit, a series (information to be announced later) and a film project for film festivals is loading in Chicago. I also finished 2 new feature length scripts and a series script as well with my writing team.
The first film that’ll release will be an independent film out of Detroit that I’m truly proud of. I serve as one of the main 3 characters, and I finally got a chance to show that I can help carry a film and play a leading role. There’s more to come from that, but it’s not about being a main character or not, it’s about being to share your art with the world, and to enjoy sharing versatility in skill on camera. I’m proud of the writer, director, producers, cast, crew and the community. This is just the beginning to even more.
I also serve as the leader of Bigger Picture Association LLC, a company specializing in programming, special events, community development and more. Check us out here at: www.biggerpictureassociation.com
Right now I have a unique work, business and creative balance and I enjoy it.
As far as my story, I’m a business man and creative that is finally just allowing myself to be. To be all of the things. To not do everything or anything, but everything that I believe God wants me to do.
It’s not what you do, but how you do it and I love the way that I’m doing things right now and my mindset.
Right now, I’m focused on impactful artwork, purposeful business and sharing great energy into every room that I walk in and just allowing myself to be human, and thankful to be capable and able.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Father. Rest in Peace to the Greatest.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yea, plenty times. Too many to name, but what God has for you is for you. It’s all about how you feel. It’s all about your vision. Without a vision, the people will perish.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
It is, but there are so many layers that I’ve hidden. So it’s the real me, but it’s not all of me. I’m excited to share more of the real me. I had to accept the real me first though and trust that I could just be me. What I mean is, I’m not just one thing. I have layers, like a character has layers. It depends on the age, time, era, all that. I love my life though and I love how God designed me. I plan to make people smile, think, laugh, and be encouraged to just be, a lil more. Lean into who you are called to be, and enjoy the journey, the imperfect journey.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Peace is priceless.
