Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Szucs
Hi Tanya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began by painting dog portraits for my friends and family. Being a self-taught artist, the process was time-consuming and involved a lot of trial and error. About three years ago, I felt burnt out from painting and wanted to try something different. I started making dog portrait magnets, which were fun and cute. This sparked my creativity, and I began experimenting. One of my first new creations was a cookie with a happy face on it. I made a bunch and gave them to friends, who thought they were fun and realistic. Encouraged by their reactions, I continued exploring new ideas and I can’t wait to bring them to fruition.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has definitely been a learning curve, Every time I make a batch a tweak it here and there. I’d say the biggest challenge is my art, family and work life balance. I’d love to say I make art for a living but nope, I have a 9 to 5 job.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make funny food character refrigerator magnets to brighten up your kitchen! They are silly and happy; sure to put a smile on people’s faces. I mold them all by hand, paint them and put together the most goofy face. I’m continuously finding new inspirations and given ideas too.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
