Rising Stars: Meet Tammy Patel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Patel.

Hi Tammy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Love Of Lola was created by the needs of our French Bulldog, Lola, who struggles with environmental allergies. Itchy paws that made her lick continually driving us crazy! Lola also has a problem most flat-nose breeds have… the crusty nose. We developed Soft Sniffer Nose balm, Pawfect Paw Balm and the Ruff Spot Stick with her in mind.  It has helped her SO much. The other products were inspired by our other dog Abby and Argo. Argo is a very anxious rescue dog. We developed the “WTF” (Calm) Roll On for her. It has a wonderful blend of relaxing Essential Oils along with Full Spectrum CBD. Abby inspired us to develop Knot Today Detangler and freshener. The long-haired breeds need a little more help between shampoos!

This was really started by the pandemic. I was stuck in quarantine because I was possibly exposed to Covid. While sitting in a room with just the dogs for 14 days, A friend recommended that I listened to Podcasts about starting your own business… while in the background, poor Lola chewed and licked, and the idea came to me. Start producing dog skin care products. I was already doing skin care for humans, why not dogs!?!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Haha, I am computer illiterate! So, setting up a website and figuring out marketing has certainly been a challenge to say the least!  With the help of my kids, I am slowly figuring it out.  I also have a great Husband who supports everything I do. Without him, this wouldn’t even be a possibility.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I pride myself on exceptional quality. I love the experimental part of my business. Not only with what scents of essential oils work together but also to aid in healing, soothing, or protecting our dogs. I always say, “human-tested, dog-approved.” That’s because I test everything on myself (or any family member walks by) before I would ever put it on my dogs (or yours!). From the initial concept to the final product, our attention to every detail is very important. In an ever-evolving industry, Love Of Lola has set the bar for innovation and delivers the best product. Our dogs are such an important part of our family. They deserve the very best!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Perseverance and passion. I love what I do and who I do it for. I am also a little stubborn and hate to give up or fail. So even when things are crashing around me, I get up and figure out how to make something out of it. Plus, I have three children who are watching me. If I quit, how could I tell them to persevere!?!
