Rising Stars: Meet Renee Suban of Rochester Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Suban.

Hi Renee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I all started several years when I landed a job as a receptionist at a local Hair Salon. I’ve always loved to play with hair but when I seen the relationships happening between stylists and guests I knew I wanted to become a stylist. Making people look and feel their best while being artistic was a dream job! But I always had a deep desire to do more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely had some ups and downs but the good always overcomes the bad. The most difficult was learning how to get where I wanted to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
After becoming a Hairstylist I dove into the education side of things and that is where I really learned how to take my career to the next level. As a stylist I’ve always longed for something more. Something bigger but I wasn’t even sure how to get there. I’ve finally figured it out and that’s another reason why I love to educate others on how to get there as well.
I’m now a Cosmetology Educator and Editorial Hairstylist. I’ve been doing session work in New York at fashion week for several years and recently expanded upon that. My work has been featured in Marie Clair, Modern Salon, Estética and Read the Tease. I have a few other projects going on but you will have to wait to stay tuned for those!!!

What matters most to you?
People matter the most. I love to make people feel and look their best and I’m honored to be able to help them in the way that I work. I also love to inspire others and to be inspired by them !
