Today we’d like to introduce you to Owen Eichler.
Hi Owen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in the small town of Pigeon, Michigan, alongside my brothers – Sean, Ethan, Jaden, and Dylan. Being the second youngest, I learned a lot from those older than me. From an early age, my interest in art and creativity was always encouraged. I spent much of my childhood drawing and painting, which naturally became an outlet for expression.
As my brothers and I got older, we discovered YouTube. Inspired by creators like Dude Perfect, we started our own channel. At the time, we were just trying to “make it,” but looking back, those moments were about something much more meaningful – bonding as a family and creating together. That experience planted an early seed for what would eventually become my passion for creative work and storytelling.
Sports also played a major role in my upbringing. I was heavily involved in football, basketball, soccer, and pickup hockey. Through athletics, I learned discipline, teamwork, and commitment – lessons that would later influence how I approach business. During my later years in high school, I had the opportunity to serve on our yearbook sales and design teams, which reignited my love for design in a more traditional, real-world way.
We worked directly with local businesses, discussing the value of advertising in our yearbook. Every sale turned into an opportunity to design an ad – which quickly became my favorite part of the process. I loved connecting with local business owners and seeing their commitment to supporting our school and community. It was during this time that my passion for entrepreneurship and design truly began to take shape.
Although I was drawn to both business and creativity, I knew I needed guidance. I leaned into faith, spending time in prayer and asking God for direction. In time, the answer became clear – to pursue design, but more importantly, to help businesses honestly and thoughtfully, without gimmicks or shortcuts.
On February 12th, 2025, my brother Dylan and I officially launched Pine Design & Marketing. While we’re still early in our journey, we feel incredibly blessed to serve businesses across Michigan through website design and development, branding, digital marketing strategy, SEO, content creation, and ongoing website support. Building relationships, supporting local organizations, and helping businesses grow with clarity and integrity has been a true joy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road? I don’t believe a path built on commitment is ever smooth. It’s often rough, demanding, and requires more endurance than people expect.
While we had years of experience in our service offerings, we quickly learned that running a business doesn’t always run parallel to the profession itself. There were early challenges in areas many people don’t see – learning how to have the right conversations, setting fair and sustainable pricing, and understanding how to balance growth with quality.
Like many things in life, you don’t truly understand it until you’re in it. Instead of avoiding those challenges, we leaned into them. We relied heavily on curiosity, humility, and a genuine commitment to our clients. After every project, we asked simple but important questions: What did you like most? and What could we improve?
Our first year wasn’t perfect – far from it – but it was formative. We take pride in the level of support we provide to each client and in our constant pursuit of improvement. Every challenge became an opportunity to refine our process, strengthen relationships, and build something more sustainable and meaningful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Pine Design & Marketing, our work centers on helping businesses present themselves clearly, professionally, and honestly online. We specialize in website design and development, branding, SEO, content strategy, and ongoing website support – but more importantly, we focus on why those things matter.
We’re known for building websites that don’t just look good, but actually serve a purpose. Many businesses come to us feeling frustrated because they have a website but aren’t seeing results. Our approach is rooted in clarity and trust – making sure a website answers questions, reduces hesitation, and helps visitors feel confident taking the next step.
What I’m most proud of is the way we work with our clients. We take the time to understand their goals, their audience, and their challenges, rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all solution. We believe honest guidance is just as important as technical skill, and we’re not afraid to recommend a simpler or more sustainable path if it’s in the client’s best interest.
What sets us apart is our emphasis on long-term relationships and education. We don’t believe clients should feel locked out or confused by their own websites. Instead, we focus on transparency, support, and empowering business owners with the information they need – whether they want to be hands-on or prefer everything managed for them.
At the end of the day, we see our work as a partnership. Helping businesses grow, especially within our local communities across Michigan, is what makes this work meaningful to us.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with us in a few different ways, depending on their needs and how involved they’d like to be.
At Pine Design & Marketing, we primarily collaborate with small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations that are looking to strengthen their online presence – whether that’s through a new website, improved branding, better visibility, or clearer digital strategy. Most relationships begin with a simple conversation to understand goals, challenges, and what success looks like for them.
We also enjoy collaborating with other local professionals and organizations – from printers and hosting partners to nonprofits and community groups – especially when those partnerships help create better outcomes for the people we serve. Supporting local initiatives and working alongside others who care about their community is something we value deeply.
For those looking to support us, sharing our work, recommending us to others, or simply engaging with our content goes a long way. As a growing local business, relationships and word-of-mouth support mean just as much to us as the work itself.
Above all, we’re grateful for the opportunity to work with people who value clarity, honesty, and long-term thinking – those relationships are what allow us to continue growing and serving communities across Michigan.
