Rising Stars: Meet Morro of Wyoming

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morro.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Art has always been a part of my life. Since I was a kid, drawing was my escape and my passion, it kept me focused and driven. I didn’t have much family support growing up, but that only pushed me harder to create a better future for myself, my wife, and our kids.

When I first started tattooing, I worked full-time on third shift and tattooed part-time. After my first year, I knew it was time to take the leap. With my wife’s support, we opened Aztec Ink Tattoos full-time, and we’ve been growing ever since. We’ve now moved into a bigger location and continue creating meaningful, high-quality art for our clients every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road when we first started. Some days we barely made enough to cover rent and bills, but we kept pushing through and believing in the vision. It didn’t take long for my art to start getting noticed, word spread, and clients began coming in. Many of those early clients are still with us today, and that loyalty means everything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a tattoo artist and the owner of Aztec Ink Tattoos. I pour my heart into every piece I create, it’s more than just ink to me. I specialize in black and grey realism and custom designs that carry meaning. Every tattoo has a story, and I’m honored when clients trust me to bring theirs to life.

What sets me apart is the passion and dedication behind my work. I care deeply about every person who walks through our doors. I want them to feel comfortable, heard, and proud of the art they leave with.

I’m especially proud of the culture we’ve built at Aztec Ink Tattoos. As one of the first Mexican-owned tattoo shops in the area, we celebrate our heritage in every way, from the art we create to the community we serve. Seeing our clients feel connected to that culture and trust us with their stories is incredibly rewarding.

What I’m most proud of is how far we’ve come, from struggling to make ends meet in the early days to now having a shop full of creativity, loyal clients, and a culture we’re proud to represent.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a role, but mostly it’s been about showing up, working hard, and being ready when opportunities came.
