Hi Mishara, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2020 i became self employed after Graduating From Douglas J Aveda’s Esthetician Program & created my brand A3sthetically Pleasing once i completed a Certification in Eyelash extensions .In 2021 i furthered my career & became a Licensed PMU artist completing a certification in Microblading & Microshading both in the state of Michigan & Florida. Within 4 years i serviced over 300 clients in Both PMU services, Lash services & full body waxing. I am also a 2024 winner of Start gardens 100 business pitch competition winning $40,000 in funding to improve & enhance my business and transition from self employment to business owner . In April 2025 i expanded A3sthetically Pleasing into AP med spa & lounge and am now hiring for Lash Technicians & an Esthetician and will be expanding our service list onto more invasive procedures as well as the services we currently offer

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The beginning was very smooth due to the fact i began in the Covid era & there was a lot of cash floating around so people had a lot of disposable income. Once 2022 neared i had to learn to market along side the trends of certain seasons and grasp my clients attention & make my brand one you couldn’t help but spend with. I also had to grow as an Individual and put myself in new environments that encouraged growth through networking and funding opportunities. This proved to be a tremendously beneficial strategy and helped me pivot in a new direction in regards to being more than self employed but now a business owner.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Since becoming a business owner i’m allowing my AP independent contractors to offer services predominantly in Lash extensions and Esthetic services while i focus on growth as a PMU artist. I am most known for both lash extensions & my ombre brow services. I ensure a tailored experience to my clients preferences, facial & bone structure giving them a unique set of either pmu brows or lash extensions so that no set is identical to another’s. Helping to boost the confidence and self esteem of many women across west Michigan! I am most proud of the upliftment i provide as both a leader within my company & to my clients and community. Many women have told me that i give them the motivation to continue pushing forward in their personal & professional development & that is a complete honor to wear as a Female Entrepreneur.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Put yourself in new environments! Your network is your net worth!! The more you connect , interact & seek guidance from those in higher positions and in the community the more you can expand in knowledge, clientele & as a brand . There are so many organizations and events out there that are geared towards business development, you must advocate for yourself! You will only go as far as you’re willing to grow!! I would for sure be 100% stagnant had i not immersed myself in environments that encourage growth as an entrepreneur
