Hi Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Story Behind A & E Event Planning

A & E Event Planning has a special significance tied to its name. It honors Anne and Edward Slotnick, fondly known as “Annie” and “Eddie.” They were devoted supporters of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, passionately advocating for education and the arts, including music, dance, photography, cinema, and culinary pursuits. Their love for large family gatherings and genuine connections with friends inspired everyone around them, showcasing how the arts can enrich lives.

My own passion for dance and music is deeply rooted in the influence of Grandma Anne and Grandpa Ed. They were there as I achieved my goals in dance and opened studios, witnessing my journey firsthand. This path eventually led me to Amber. After relocating to town, I was searching for a babysitter for my two daughters as I prepared to open my studio. I wanted Amber not only to care for my girls but also to help me at the studio, which marked the start of our inseparable friendship over 20 years ago.

Amber and I have collaborated in numerous ways—working on my kids’ activities, organizing recitals, and celebrating life’s milestones together. We’ve supported one another through weddings, graduations, and family gatherings, becoming a constant presence in each other’s lives. So, what better way to share our passion than by launching a business together? Our goal is to celebrate life’s meaningful moments by creating stunning environments that leave clients awestruck, turning their dreams into reality and crafting truly unforgettable experiences.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Although the concept of event planning sounds like it could be an easy road, it does have many challenges. The biggest struggles have been reaching those who may need someone to help coordinate their special events. Event planners are essential to help make things go smoothly especially for Weddings as people get very overwhelmed with their details. Our industry can be an after thought and sometimes people realize last minute that they need assistance pulling everything together. Also social media and competing with other planners all around can be an additional challenge. We do love to meet people in person, however as many of you know, social media is where most look for their details, inspiration and vendors to hire.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A & E Event Planning specialized in all types of celebrations including but not limited too, weddings, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, baby showers, graduation parties, birthday parties, anniversaries, dance recitals and other corporate type events. We are known for the WOW factor, by really getting to know our clients, their wants, visions and needs by really building that positive relationship. We have a wonderful communication style and really keep the best interest at heart for our clients. We are most proud of launching this special business as it is a culmination of both of our talents, our knowledge, skills and abilities. What sets us a part is truly our professionalism and wonderful sense of humor and true human interest as we truly do enjoy celebrating people!
