Rising Stars: Meet Marcelo Barnes of Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcelo Barnes.

Hi Marcelo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started photography this year as a hobby and have really enjoyed documenting my college years. It brings me closer to things I love in life. Making people happy and making memories.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far it has been good. Some challenges are people are demanding and expect a lot from me even though I am going to school for something unrelated to photography.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an interior architecture and design student at Western Michigan. I am proud of all the hard work I have done in my program and my worth ethic. Always striving to be great.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Not really. Music is my biggest resource. Music is the best thing in the world to me. It makes you feel so much and puts you in places that make you feel everything in life.

Pricing:

• 50$ an hour for generally anything. I have booked frat parties and other gatherings. Nothing to huge yet!
