Hi Mangete, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Christian, and I am originally from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. I have been living in Cape Town, South Africa, for the past six years. During this time, I have worked hard to build my experience, especially in the hospitality industry, where I developed a passion for customer service and bartending. I enjoy learning new skills, meeting people from different backgrounds, and challenging myself to grow both personally and professionally. My journey has not always been easy, but every challenge has made me more determined, resilient, and focused on achieving my goals. Today, I am looking for an opportunity where I can contribute my skills, continue learning, and build a successful career.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. Moving from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Cape Town was a big challenge. I had to adapt to a new country, a different culture, and build a life from the beginning. Finding stable work was not always easy, and there were times when I faced financial difficulties. However, these experiences made me stronger, more resilient, and more determined. I continued learning, gained experience in the hospitality industry, and never gave up on my goals. Every challenge has taught me valuable lessons and motivated me to keep moving forward.

I am known for being hardworking, reliable, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. One of the things I am most proud of is building my career and gaining valuable experience after moving from Congo to South Africa. What sets me apart is my positive attitude, willingness to learn, ability to adapt, and passion for delivering great customer service. I always strive to improve my skills and make every guest feel welcome.
