Today we’d like to introduce you to Louie Domerese.
Hi Louie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off working downtown at shortys shoe repair. I worked there for ten years while training with master cobblers and a shoe maker to better my skills in the trade. In 2018 I started dreaming of opening my own shop and by April 2019 I was able to open my doors.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Covid closed our doors for months and the Sanford dam break displaced our family. We also survived moving the shop location from the Midland Towne Center to the current location on S. Saginaw road.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a master cobbler I have been repairing shoes for over almost 15 years. I have trained with other cobblers and shoe makers and love expanding my knowledge of the industry.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can stop by the shop anytime with any repair they need. I can do anything from patches on vests to full rebuilds.
