Rising Stars: Meet Lindsay Theisen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Theisen.

Hi Lindsay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I have always been an artist. In high school, I took a course; I didn’t even know what it was all about: “Graphic Design” I took the plunge and fell in love (2004). After that, I attended Central Michigan University and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design (2010). I immediately put my degree to use and began designing for many different companies. A major company was a casino in my hometown, Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, non-gaming entities which had a golf course, multiple hotels on the property, pharmacy, an outfitter, marina, etc. I also worked in the forest industry as a designer for a woodchipper manufacturer. There are quite a few more, but I won’t list them all. Basically, all of these positions geared me up to be a well-rounded designer. In 2017, I decided to take the plunge and slowly build a business of my own. I never intended to grown as much as we did, I honestly didn’t really know or plan anything that has happened it’s basically snow balled. I have had to relocate my home once for a larger shop (we started at our residence), and now we are in an even bigger shop in the middle of my hometown in the city of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I already had many connections in the area, so it was not hard to get off the ground; we literally took off sprinting. Within 6 months, I found a mutual friend/neighbor to be by my side, I taught her what I knew of the wrap industry, and now she has been here to help us grow 6+ years later, even through a pandemic. We are a strong team of 5 girls (Lindsay Theisen (owner/designer/graphic installer), Jill Payton (production manager/graphic installer), Sherry Theisen (Ebay specialist), Rashel Hubbard (graphic designer) & Holli Bristley (Project Coordinator) We basically do everything on our own in the shop. We have embraced every learning curve we have had and wouldn’t change a thing! Cheers to growing and following your dreams!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working on the actual business and keeping it in operation (the projects) has always been a challenge for me as a business owner/creative. There is always so much that needs to be done. It is a growing industry, and our company grew fast, we are constantly having to be on top of our game and on our toes for what’s next to come.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own Just fab Graphics, and I also design, run the printer and install vehicle wraps and graphics.

How do you define success?
I feel to be successful, you just keep going. If you have a new idea, just run with it and make it happen! There is no time for procrastination. Stay focused.
