Rising Stars: Meet Jody Trierweiler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jody Trierweiler.

Hi Jody, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always loved health and fitness and use to host “circus” events in my backyard as a child. I began cheerleading in 7th grade and that led me to receive a scholarship for cheerleading to Eastern Michigan University. I studied Sports Medicine and received my B.S. degree in Exercise Science in 1997. I became a certified Group Exercise Instructor in college and began teaching classes such as step aerobics and boot camp. I worked in corporate fitness for a few years before transitioning to pharmaceutical sales because it was much more lucrative. I worked in sales successfully for 7 years and in the meantime, got married and had 2 sons. It was my second pregnancy in 2006 that completely changed the course of my life. I was working a 6-figure sales job and enjoying it, when during my pregnancy I had severe hyperemesis (morning sickness) paired with preeclampsia (life-threatening kidney issues causing hypertension). I was put on bed rest and had to quit my job after months of being home. I became so ill, I lost 15 pounds during the pregnancy and my son was born 5 weeks early. My mom had to come stay with us after he was born, the doctor were having trouble controlling my blood pressure from the preeclampsia and I was too weak to carry the baby safely up the stairs in my home. I began rehabbing slowly by holding my mom’s arm and walking up and down the sidewalk in front of my house. Going up the stairs was a huge task, my legs ached and I was breathing very heavy. After a few months, I started to feel great again and I had developed an intense desire to help others who were ill, recovering, or dealing with obesity.

I attended a fitness convention where my love for health and fitness was rekindled to a roaring fire! I renewed my certification to teach exercise classes, became a certified personal trainer, and began nutrition training. I jumped back into fitness head first, teaching up to 10 classes a week and training clients. My big break came when I was asked to be backup for a friend’s fitness video, which led to my own video called Power Body Ice and eventually WDIV Local 4 asked me to be the fitness expert for Live in The D, a pop culture show. I began appearing in live tv segments twice a month in 2015 and I’m still doing it!

Comcast saw one of my segments and asked me to host a health fitness show that would air in Michigan and Indiana called Jody’s FitLife and we made 3 seasons of the show, featuring local fitness and nutrition venues all around Metro Detroit.

During the covid shutdown, I completed a 2-year nutrition program becoming a Certified Nutritional Consultant and Certified Nutrition Coach and Weight Loss Specialist. I launched Jodysfitlife.com in January 2022 focusing on weight loss and nutritional supplements. It is my passion and destiny to help others learn the truth about nutrition and fitness, and find their healthiest life possible.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I offer nutrition coaching that is a very unique approach and includes Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual aspects. This allows clients to reveal past traumas and beliefs that have led them to this precise moment in time.

By exploring these areas, clients can allow themselves to look at food and exercise differently. From a healthier vantage point, and make necessary changes to lead to ultimate happiness.

I am truly an expert in the field of fitness and nutrition and possess not only the credentials, schooling, and certifications, but also over 20 years of experience living the lifestyle.

The products I sell on my website are very high-end and exclusively available only through qualified practitioners. The weight loss market is saturated with MLM schemes and other low-quality products that aren’t effective or even dangerous. Consumers need to do their research and only work with qualified practitioners like myself.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was full of energy, always tumbling on the lawn. Lots of friends and always the one getting in trouble for talking or laughing in class. I had a sticker book and loved collecting stickers, scratch and sniff were a favorite. I loved Strawberry Shortcake dolls and the smell of them brings me right back to my childhood.

I always won events at field day, was very athletic, and loved dancing too.
