Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Norris.
Hi Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I started Jasmine Norris Photography, I was a junior at Purdue University, and I’m not sure I could have imagined that 20 years later I would still be here, still growing and doing the work that I love.
I actually began as a concert photographer and over time my path evolved into weddings and corporate events. That shift gave me the privilege of documenting some of the most meaningful days in people’s lives, especially their wedding day, creating images that allow couples not only to relive those moments, but to preserve their love story for future generations to enjoy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think with any sort of entrepreneurship, there are ups and downs along the road, especially at the beginning where you are figuring everything out. When I just started out, I photographed everything. Eventually, I figured out my specialty of weddings and events and was able to really focus all of my marketing efforts into that specialty. There is also a lot of struggles with pricing at the beginning for service based businesses where we have to figure out exactly how much time and effort is put into each event so we can make sure we are being paid accordingly. Espcially for photography, the time it takes me to photograph an event is the shortest part of the process! Editing, client communication, etc all happen behind the scenes and take up a lot more time than people think.

Jasmine Norris is an award winning and published wedding photographer based in Indiana but she photographs weddings worldwide. For two decades, Jasmine has been providing wedding couples with romantic and joyful images that they will love and treasure for generations all while helping them have a stress-free wedding photography experience with her business Jasmine Norris Photography. Averaging around twenty-five wedding couples each year, she is able to consistently meet deadlines while providing an amazing client experience and accumulating five-star reviews from all of her couples.
A photographer for the romantic and joyful couples who want their wedding day to be authentic, Jasmine also understands how stressful planning a wedding can be and to alleviate that stress, she arms her couples with lots of help and guidance from family formals to wedding day timelines to posing and a lot more. Jasmine is also committed to helping other photographers and entrepreneurs succeed and speaks at several conferences throughout the year on topics such as getting published, personal branding, sustainability, and contingency plans.
Jasmine is committed to operating with as low of an environmental footprint as possible with Jasmine Norris Photography and donates 5% of sales to environmental causes. For the last nine years, she was able to neutralize over 720,000 pounds of carbon emissions by partnering with ClimeCo. and is on track to neutralize 80,000 pounds of carbon emissions in 2026 along with recovering over 80 pounds of ocean bound plastic, and restoring 15,000 gallons of water to ecosystems. This puts Jasmine Norris Photography on track to continue being a carbon neutral company.
Jasmine focuses not just on environmental causes but also local causes within the Lafayette, Indiana community. She regularly donates and sponsors local non-profits through monetary and in-kind donations. Some of the local causes she supported in 2025 include: being a rain guardian through the City of Lafayette, Pride Lafayette, YMCA Pedal For A Purpose, Loving Paws Animal Shelter, and Wildcat Creek Wildlife Center.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to just keep doing what I love and documenting these special moments for my clients. 2026 marks 20 years for Jasmine Norris Photography and I’m looking forward to continuing to do this for another 20 years!
