Hi Jamie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey is rooted in creativity, strategy, and a relentless work ethic. I’m a proud Grand Rapids native and a global marketing strategist, working across multiple sectors where I blend high-level vision with hands-on execution. From managing international campaigns to building brand voice and presence, I’ve learned that success is often about showing up, staying adaptable, and creating real connections.
In addition to my professional work, I’ve spent over a decade building a social media presence through @heartjlove and @iheartjlove—sharing lifestyle, beauty, and wellness content that connects with people on a personal level. That digital platform has opened doors, built community, and become a creative outlet that complements everything I do in business.
And above all, I’m a working mother. Balancing family, career, and creative ambition has taught me to lead with empathy, move with intention, and stay grounded. Every chapter—online and offline—has shaped who I am today, and I believe it’s the blend of grit, authenticity, and curiosity that continues to guide my path.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and I’m okay with that. I’ve faced significant challenges, including experiencing homelessness and navigating an abusive marriage. But through those hardships came profound growth. I found the strength to rebuild, eventually discovering real love, remarrying, and surrounding myself with the right people and environments that truly support and elevate me.
Those struggles were painful, but they also shaped my character, sharpened my purpose, and deepened my gratitude. I’ve learned that sometimes the most unexpected, difficult moments lead to the biggest breakthroughs. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them—and for that, I’m deeply thankful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my work, I operate at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and impact. As a global marketing strategist, I specialize in brand development, content strategy, and campaign execution—particularly in the e-commerce space and startup environments where agility and innovation are essential. I’ve had the opportunity to help build brands from the ground up, shape customer experiences, and drive growth across a range of sectors.
But what I’m most proud of—and what has deeply connected me to my calling—is the work I’ve done in the global WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) space. Being part of something that directly impacts lives around the world has been incredibly grounding. Years ago, I used to pray for alignment—for something that would allow me to use my talents with purpose. And I believe that the combination of my professional path and my connection to people through social media has helped me discover just that.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend business acumen with heart. I lead with authenticity, I’m not afraid to get in the trenches, and I know how to translate vision into execution. Whether I’m building strategy behind the scenes or showing up in front of the camera, I bring energy, empathy, and excellence into everything I do.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something most people don’t know about me is that I started working—and truly understanding the hustle—at a very young age. When I was little, my mother was abducted, and my father stepped in to raise my sister and me on his own. He was a southern man who grew up picking cotton and later became an entrepreneur. By the time I was seven or eight, I wasn’t spending weekends at sleepovers or playing sports—I was learning how to earn, how to build, and how to survive. I was hands-on in his businesses, learning firsthand what it means to work hard and create something of value.
That early experience shaped everything about how I move in the world today. My drive, my resilience, my willingness to dive into any challenge—it all comes from that foundation. People often see my energy and assume I’m just naturally wired this way, but there’s a much deeper story behind it.
And on a lighter note—something else people might not expect—I still love cartoons. It’s a simple joy that reminds me of my childhood and keeps me grounded. Also, I absolutely love flowers. They bring me peace, beauty, and a sense of calm in the midst of my busy, high-energy world.
