Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisia Pothoof.
Hi Elisia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began creating content shortly after my oldest child was born in 2019, sharing our everyday life and connecting with brands that aligned with our family. Some of my first collaborations were with BabySteps BabyBox, Stallings & Son, HelloFresh, and several other small businesses. As my audience grew, so did the opportunities, leading to partnerships with larger brands including Walmart, Target, Noleo, REPLAY, BarkBox, and many more. Over the years, the holiday season has become my busiest time for brand collaborations and my absolute favorite season to create content, bringing festive campaigns and family-centered storytelling to life. In March 2025, our family experienced a devastating house fire that claimed our home and two of our beloved dogs. During that incredibly difficult time, The Lost Stuffy Project and Petsies blessed our family by creating lifelike replicas of our dogs, giving my children a source of comfort they will always cherish. After taking time away from content creation to focus on rebuilding our lives, we are finally back in our home, and I’m excited to begin creating again with a renewed appreciation for sharing authentic moments and meaningful partnerships.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many creators, I’ve faced the challenge of balancing content creation with raising a growing family, while also navigating the constant changes that come with social media. There have been moments of burnout, creative blocks, and learning how to adapt as platforms and brand expectations evolved. The biggest challenge came in March 2025, when our family lost our home and two of our dogs in a devastating fire. Everything came to a halt as we focused on grieving, rebuilding, and helping our children adjust to a new reality. During that time, creating content wasn’t a priority. Stepping away gave me the space to focus on what mattered most, and returning after rebuilding our home has given me a fresh perspective. I’m more intentional about the partnerships I accept and more grateful than ever for the opportunity to create content that feels genuine, meaningful, and relatable.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a family and lifestyle content creator, and I love sharing the real, everyday moments of motherhood and family life. I started creating content in 2019 after my oldest was born, and what began as a creative outlet quickly turned into something I truly love. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing brands, from small businesses to companies like Walmart, Target, BarkBox, and many others. I enjoy creating content that feels genuine and tells a story instead of feeling like an advertisement.
If I had to say what I specialize in, it would be creating authentic, family-centered content that people can relate to. Whether it’s holiday traditions, parenting, home life, pets, or everyday products we genuinely use, I want my audience to feel like they’re getting a glimpse into our real lives. The holiday season is my favorite time to create because it brings out so much creativity, and I love helping brands become part of those special family moments.
What I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built and the trust I’ve earned over the years. After our family lost our home and two of our dogs in a devastating fire in March 2025, I stepped away from content creation to focus on rebuilding our lives. Coming back has given me a new perspective and an even deeper appreciation for the work I get to do. That experience reminded me that the connections we make online can have a real impact.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just create content—I tell stories. I want every partnership to feel authentic and meaningful because that’s what my audience responds to. I only work with brands that fit naturally into our family’s lifestyle, and I think that honesty is why people continue to trust and engage with my content. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create content that feels real, builds connections, and helps both my audience and the brands I work with.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
To be honest, I don’t really have any favorite podcasts, books, or specific resources that I rely on for work or everyday life. Most of what I’ve learned has come through hands-on experience, trial and error, and simply growing alongside my audience over the years. I tend to learn by doing, adapting, and finding what works best for my family and my content. I also draw a lot of inspiration from everyday life and the experiences that come with motherhood, which helps keep my content authentic and relatable.
