Rising Stars: Meet Dennis Kioko (CP) of Mauritius

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Kioko (CP).

Hi Dennis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I actually picked up a camera when I was about six years old. My dad worked as a DJ and handled sound for events, and he always needed photos from the gigs. That’s how it started he’d hand me the camera and let me shoot during events. Afterward, he’d sit with me and show me what I did right, what I needed to avoid, and what to pay attention to. Those early lessons became the foundation of everything I do today in photography.
As the years went by i was in & out with photography until i got into Uni. That’s where i decided to really go for it and that’s how Gallerywun_Cp came about.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly, I did photography purely for fun for a long time. I never really took it seriously in the beginning it was just something I enjoyed doing without thinking too much about it.
I was always focus on the output over everything.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a portrait photographer, and my biggest focus is service. Whenever I’m shooting, my priority is making sure my clients feel comfortable, confident, and able to be their best selves. In terms of my craft, I’m drawn to capturing beauty, faces, and genuine moments the little expressions and details that tell a story.

What sets me apart? Honestly, I’m not sure. I think my clients would be able to answer that better than I can.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
God is Good
