Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Andre (Dre) Thomas.
Hi D’Andre (Dre), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Before I share my story I would like to start with a prayer for anyone who may read this.
In this interview, I have the privilege of discussing the ‘why’ behind my work. More than just a creative path, this vision is rooted in my relationship with Jesus Christ. I pray that these words serve as a bridge for anyone seeking more—more purpose, more clarity, more life, and a deeper sense of being known. May you find inspiration here, and may it lead you toward the transformative love of God that changes everything. I am grateful to the journalist who helped me articulate this message with such wisdom.
In Jesus name, Amen
I’m Lavish Life, the founder of Lavish 4 Life Clothing Co. — a brand that grew out of my dream as an aspiring rap artist. My flow and stage presence landed me spots sharing stages with artists like J. Cole, Wu-Tang Clan, Royce Da 5’9”, and Machine Gun Kelly. This opened doors for my music to be featured on Detroit and New York local radio. As an upcoming rapper, I’ve always lived at the intersection of hip‑hop, fashion, and footwear, and that passion naturally evolved into a clothing line that reflects the culture, the faith, and the style I represent. Lavish 4 Life is more than apparel — it’s a statement of who I am and the community I’m building.
I’m the founder of Lavish 4 Life Clothing Co., a faith-based streetwear brand launched in 2019. L4L celebrates God’s grace—those who believe Jesus paid the price are “lavished” with the gift of eternal life. Knowing the end gives purpose to the process and reminds us that what’s meant to break us can’t—the victory is already ours. I’m grateful to my wife, parents, family, and friends for shaping the RealionHeir [Reel-yun-Heir] I am today. L4L isn’t your typical Christian streetwear brand—I’ll share more about that soon.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Looking back, I can see God’s hand guiding me — which is why I started L4L. I was lost: drawn into gangs as a teen, partying and chasing the wrong life, even aspiring to rap while tearing down my own community. I battled serious health issues, experienced homelessness because of poor choices and pride, and went through a long legal fight that left me unemployed and struggling while my wife was pregnant. After years of hardship, justice and restoration came. I share my story through this brand to encourage others: no matter how dark it looks, God can restore us if we let Him.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear many hats as the Owner and Creative Director of L4L—I design collections, curate our aesthetic, and manage manufacturing partnerships to ensure quality from concept to product. My work centers on making the Gospel relatable through high-quality streetwear: we simplify the message of Christ so it resonates with people who might not encounter it otherwise. What drives me most is seeing our apparel become a bridge across backgrounds, building community through love, authenticity, and a shared connection between faith and fashion.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Breaking into this space hasn’t been easy, largely because it’s an industry that tends to gatekeep information. My process has been defined by trial, error, and resiliency to gain motion. To stay grounded through that process, I use the Bible for wisdom, prayer for clarity, and wise counsel for strategy. I also make it a point to prioritize giving back; it’s a resource that keeps me humble, focused, and aligned with maintaining a clear vision for the brand.”
