Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Wilson.
Hi Christy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I wanted to create a social place that was comfy and a little bougie where people could try and enjoy different wines from around the world. Basically a wine club that was open to everyone to experience the wines together and talk about them.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
of course the liquor license was the biggest challenge. Another challenge was finding the perfect location. That perfect location I knew it was in Bellaire, but there was not much building space available. The building that did become available is perfect, but needed a complete renovation.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Fireside lounge is an experience. It’s a feeling. Wine and cocktails always taste better in the perfect environment. So creating that space was a lot of fun. It’s about the colors of the room, the fabrics in the furniture, the artwork on the walls, the dimness of the lights, the music choice, and of course the presentation.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up on a farm riding my horse every day. Those are my best childhood memories.
