Rising Stars: Meet Arielle Townsel of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Townsel.

Hi Arielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My career began in the creative industry as a model, but I quickly found myself drawn behind the scenes into creative direction, branding, and strategy. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands and organizations across different industries, and each experience helped shape the way I approach my work today.

I officially launched Holly K. Co. in 2019 with the vision of helping businesses and organizations communicate their purpose with excellence. What started as creative services has grown into a full-service agency offering branding, website design, marketing, creative consulting, and business strategy. Today, my focus is helping clients build brands that are clear, intentional, and positioned for long-term growth while staying true to the vision God has given them.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change the journey. Like many business owners, I’ve had times where I questioned whether to keep going, navigated financial uncertainty, and learned difficult lessons about boundaries, difficult individuals, pricing, and trusting the Holy Spirit. At the same time, every challenge strengthened my faith and refined my business. Looking back, I can see that those seasons weren’t setbacks. They were preparing me to serve my clients with more wisdom, empathy, and confidence.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Holly K. Co. is a full-service creative agency that helps businesses, nonprofits, and organizations bring their vision to life through branding, website design, marketing, creative strategy, and business consulting. I enjoy building brands from the ground up, but I also love stepping into established organizations and helping them grow with intentional systems and a stronger presence.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. They know I’ll treat their vision like it’s my own and lead every project with excellence and integrity. I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just create something that looks good. I take the time to understand the heart behind the vision so the final result is authentic, strategic, and built to last.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I appreciate most about Muskegon is its sense of community and opportunity. It’s a place where people genuinely care about seeing local businesses, nonprofits, and families succeed. I also love the natural beauty, especially being so close to Lake Michigan.

I think Muskegon has a lot more potential than it’s often given credit for. I’d love to see continued investment in economic development, more opportunities to attract and retain young professionals, and stronger support for entrepreneurs and community organizations that are already doing meaningful work.
