Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Stephens and Angel Zertuche.
Hi Angela & Angel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We were both working moms and one day Angel sent me a Tik Tok about a couple who bought a photo booth and rented it out for different events. She said “We should do this! What do you think?” I said “Are you crazy, do you really think that could work?” Next thing you know a couple of months later we owned or first photo booth and had no idea what we were doing. It was a huge learning curve. We started with trying to come up with a name. We spent hours on this and came up with “Take A Shot Photo Booth. Ironically, back when were kids in the 90s, we made a board game called “Take a Chance” and we tried to sell it at the store that we bought all of the game pieces from. Once we got our photo booth equipment, we hit the ground running and started doing free events here and there to gain exposure and experience. Here we are today, 2 years later, with two photo booths, a magazine cover booth, an audio guestbook, and countless smiles captured.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of the challenges we have faced are not realizing how much marketing is entailed in having a small business. That in itself has been challenging, frustrating, and time consuming. Another challenge is having a full time job and being a parent on top of this. It’s definitely been a rollercoaster.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a photo booth rental company. We rent out our photo booth services for a variety of events such as: weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events. We are most proud of the great customer feedback we receive. What sets us apart? Our communication with our customers is key. We strive to respond quickly and listen their needs so that we can exceed their expectations.
Any big plans?
Our plans for the future include growing and expanding into franchises in Michigan and beyond.
