Hi Amber, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Rain and Revelry Events is a culmination of three best friends’ shared passion for all things fantasy and event planning. We create luxurious, immersive experiences that serve our region’s growing *bookish* community for unique, experiential travel. We produce large-scale, bookish-inspired events—such as fantasy masquerades or custom built obstacle courses—that turn local venues into temporary story worlds!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Navigating a relatively new, rapidly expanding, and unpredictable market has proved challenging at times. We’ve found ourselves constantly trying to catch literary trends while they’re hot, and setting events themed around them into production before our community’s focus shifts to the next new thing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Something that sets us apart from others in our creative industry is our attention to detail and logistical execution. We’ve seen the bookish events industry rapidly boom, with a vast difference in quality across events produced. We have managed to create events around themes that captivate our audience without compromising quality. We rigorously plan each and every element of our events, working through our timelines through a problem-solving lens. We pride ourselves in not only offering the obvious elements that guests anticipate, like thematic decor and dedicated character actors, but smooth experience from start to finish. Things like managing plate timing, crowd flow between activities, and accessibility make all the difference in a guest’s overall experience!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel that innovation and adaptability are crucial in our industry! You have to be able to see what works and what doesn’t, adjusting with every new event launch. You have to be able to unlock the nostalgia guests seek in these immersive experiences while also differentiated your events enough from others offered around you.
