Hi Xxmorrison , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music.. always such an important part of my life, all life for that matter, but never front and center. I have been going most of my life up to this point without realizing just how important music was and is. Throughout my youth, I played music but most of my time was consumed of hockey. It ended to injury, a blessing in disguise as I see it now. It led me back to my gift to pick an instrument up and play. Music soon turned into my passion and sense of happiness through the darker times. Although I always had a special ear for music and many instruments under my belt, I had never sang a note and I set out to change that. Believing in myself, many waking hours were spent in my spare bedroom… turned studio. Slowly and with perseverance, perfecting my craft and creating the brand I have today. Self taught everywhere from recording, mixing, producing, creating cover art, designing merch and logos, video editing and about anything else you could think of. I don’t plan to stop my constant and consistent growth and improvement moving forward for years to come and I truly hope my version of therapy, which is my music, may be enjoyable to all who listen.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggles along the way? Many. That’s what makes great things so great I’d have to argue. With every struggle, you’re bound to learn something. My something has been everything from production to distributing and everything in between. Being self taught, you’re struggles can often be your biggest guide.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear many hats in my career thus far, and aspire to do more. I produce, record vocals, mix, create cover art and distribute accordingly. To then finish the release, I create the videos and merch to go with it all, as well as lyrics, canvas and all the little things that go into it. Part of the journey for me is figuring yourself out and the sound that comes with it. My sound is forever changing as I find my place, with my new music caring little about the rules. I have many unreleased songs soon to be out, all of which have their own unique sound that I feel I’m starting to capture. If you’re not a listener now, I highly recommend a listen in the future. How do you define success?
Success to me is having the choice of what you put your energy towards in life. I’ve never been a lazy person and I love to learn new things, so having the freedom to expand a brand like mine all on my own is all I could ask for and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
