Meet Vincina Person of Her Wellness and Beauty Med Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincina Person.

Hi Vincina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started in nursing, caring for others came naturally to me. But over time, I realized I wanted to create something that blended my medical background with my passion for wellness, beauty, and self-confidence. After going through a major ankle surgery that forced me to slow down and reevaluate everything, I decided to bet on myself. That’s when Her Wellness and Beauty was born, a med spa where women could prioritize their health, wellness, and peace. At the same time, I knew I wanted to build a brand that reached beyond the treatment room, one that allowed me to share, connect, and create content that felt like me.

What started as a healing journey became a movement. Alongside building my spa, I was also intentional about showing up online sharing my knowledge, my journey, and my lifestyle. I knew I wanted to build a personal brand that would allow me to influence how women approach wellness and beauty beyond the treatment room. Now I get to inspire women not just through treatments and services, but through content that reminds them it’s okay to take up space, to pivot, and to feel confident doing it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely wasn’t a smooth road, but every bump helped shaped me. One of my biggest challenges was recovering from a total ankle replacement. I was learning how to walk again while trying to keep my dream alive. Starting a med spa isn’t just about having a vision, it’s also navigating medical regulations, finding the right team, and investing in yourself with no guarantees.

At the same time, I was growing my personal brand as a wellness and beauty influencer, something I’ve always been passionate about and hope to do full-time. I was learning how to show up online consistently, share my journey authentically, and connect with an audience while still figuring things out behind the scenes. There were moments I felt like giving up. I was trying to grow a business and a brand at the same time, while healing physically and emotionally. But I kept showing up, gave myself permission to pivot, and leaned into purpose over perfection.

The road wasn’t smooth, but neither am I. That’s what makes my journey real.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Her Wellness and Beauty was built from purpose. I created a space where women could prioritize themselves, their health, their glow, and their confidence. I specialize in medical weight loss, vitamin therapy, and Botox, but at the core of it all, I serve women who are ready to feel better in their bodies and show up fully for themselves.

While the med spa is my purpose, content creation is my passion. I love showing up online, sharing my journey, and creating content that inspires, educates, and connects. As a wellness and beauty influencer, I’ve built a platform rooted in authenticity, where I talk about confidence, self-love, lifestyle, and the behind-the-scenes of being a woman figuring it out. It’s not directly tied to the spa, it’s tied to me. If I’m being honest, this is the part of my brand I’d love to do full time, partner with brands, go on brand trips, and help other women show up online being confident in their own skin.

What I’m most proud of is the way I’ve created space for both: serving women hands-on through my med spa, and showing up online as a reminder that healing, beauty, and confidence can look like many things. My brand is rooted in my love for seeing others win, authenticity and transparency. I’m just getting started.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Detroit is the resilience. This city is full of hustlers, healers, creatives, and visionaries, people who find a way to rise, no matter what. There’s a raw, authentic energy here that fuels innovation and community, especially among Black women entrepreneurs. We don’t just talk about it ,we be about it.

What I like least? Sometimes it feels like we don’t get the recognition or resources we deserve. There’s so much talent and passion here, but we’re often overlooked or underfunded. I’d love to see more platforms, support, and investments that help small businesses and creators in Detroit thrive not just survive.

But even with that, we make magic out of what we’ve got.
