Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My wife Christina and I are the proud owners of The Humble Hound-Pet Waste Removal here in Grand Rapids. We started out with just a couple of clients who needed help when they were sick or on vacation.
We really loved being able to serve others in the Grand Rapids community, so we decided to see if others would be interested as well. Once the word got out, we were busy in every sense!
We chose the name The Humble Hound because in order to serve others well, you have to have a sense of humility. We all have a chance to serve others, and we are honored to be able to help out in this way. It has been such a blessing to be able to help those in need in our community with varying life circumstances.
We have grown to provide multiple service options, including weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and one-time clean-up services. Once the snow melts here in West Michigan, that becomes our busy season for sure! We have just been so thrilled with the positive feedback and referrals from so many of our clients. It has also been so fun being part of the pet care community here in West Michigan. It is so great being a small business here in Grand Rapids!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
We have been growing steadily since we have started. Balancing growth and personal schedules, we have had to navigate adding additional technicians to help with the growing need.
The weather, by far, can be our biggest struggle. When you have a full route for the day, and it pours nonstop, rescheduling many appointments can be tricky. Our clients have been amazing, though, and very flexible when the unpredictable Michigan weather hits.
