Hi Tim, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a full-time professional soccer player and began Every Cup as a hobby. Having ample free time in the afternoons most days has given me the opportunity to explore many local coffee shops around the area. The addition of traveling almost twice a month to many different cities across the country brings the opportunity to see other local coffee shops as well. So, I saw the opportunity to create an Instagram page as a hobby with the hopes of it turning into a larger scale business kind of like a side gig during the season and something to really have fun within the off-season. Every Cup is in the very early stages but has quickly become a deeper interest than just a hobby of mine.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting something never runs smoothly from the start. Having no prior professional education or experience in marketing outside of what I have learned from the media department of the clubs I have played for, or personal Instagram experience, and just learning from what famous influencers have to say has created a bit of a challenge. The largest challenge has been consistency. With Every Cup being brand new and a side gig, it does get pushed to the side at times because of my primary responsibility with professional soccer. This has made it hard to try and make a content schedule at times and give it full focus to really get it off the ground and running. However, as the off-season has begun now for the winter months, I am looking forward to dedicating time to the page and business.

This business is a small-scale marketing agency based around local coffee shops and coffee roasters. The difference between Every Cup and our competitors is our mission. We are an agency that wants to promote the best local coffee spots around the country in a way that is practical for both parties. No games, gimmicks, or smoke and mirrors. Your shop has the best coffee around? We want to share your story! This company started as a hobby and will always be run with that mentality. Just as many coffee lovers dream of opening their own quaint and cozy shop, that is how Every Cup was created.
What does success mean to you?
Success isn’t always easy to define. I think it’s something that you have one idea pictured in your head, but the real moments of success sneak up on you. Those are the moments of success that bring the greatest feeling. For example, this interview. Every Cup was an idea and a hobby that I created not long ago just trying to explore coffee all over. Now here I am being interviewed for a magazine! As for Every Cup, the definition of success will remain the same forever. If we are spreading the stories of local coffee and helping those who put their time into creating something we all love, then we are successful.
