Meet Tim Croll of Tim Croll Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Croll.

Hi Tim, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My start is full of hard knocks and tough learning experiences. I have always felt the call towards entrepreneurial adventures. As a middle schooler, I did all the work to win booster selling contest and then started into selling baseball cards at different shows through High School. I was always selling something or thinking of opportunities. The conflict was in how society was telling me I needed college and many different paths, but I have always been a little more a rebel, I just like to create my own path. I was able to find my calling after many different hard knocks and really tough experiences. Out of college, I got married, started my own construction, and felt that I was well on my way to being that entrepreneur. I still had a lot to learn that I wasn’t able to learn through college. I ended up losing 2 houses, getting my car repo-ed, and struggling through many different financial struggles. The next several years I worked several different jobs and even followed the society path of working for a corporation. I felt that I was wrong and needed the stability of a job.

When I got fired from that job after building a multi-million-dollar branch because of the sale of that product, I realized that the stability is a myth. Since then, I have gone on to do some really fun things.

I have built SunFrog Shirts from 10k a month to 15 million a month through affiliate marketing strategies. I have worked with several online brands growing them up over seven figures. I have also been working with over a hundred different small business owners helping them to grow their business by 2x – 5x growth. I have been doing this but still keeping the family as a priority.

Melissa and I made the commitment that the greatest thing we could do is coach and train our kids. One of the commitments that we have made is to spend time with them. Micah, my oldest, loved fishing so I spent time fishing out on the lake. Zach had the passion to build with LEGO and in order to spend time with him. We displayed at Brickworld in Chicago, and it was from there that we were asked to apply for LEGO Masters. Zach and I were the father/son duo from Season 2. That platform has given me the opportunity to talk about building healthy relationships both in our personal lives as well as in our business. It allows me to use LEGO as a way to teach the business strategies and leadership techniques.

I am excited to see the different platforms we will have over the coming years.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was raised in a small community and didn’t really understand how big everything was. It took a serious mindset shift to see outside the limits of small-town thinking. After my first adventure into business ownership, I lost everything. We went from own a rental and our own 3000 sq ft home with 2 kids and one on the way to 1000 sq ft and another child on the way. We moved from where I knew everything to Rochester where we knew no one and had nothing. When we started rebuilding, I got caught up with a guy that lied about starting a business and took me into my first court case. (Later released) Later built a product taking into 3 different industries and getting it launched into major box stores only to be fired when they sold the product to another company. I then build SunFrog to 15 million, creating an Ecom brand that was widely known. When the owner went back on our agreement for pay, I left and he later sued me. Eventually, the lawsuit was thrown out of court.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tim Croll Coaching?
I connect the strategies and theories to practical application. Working through the challenges to get people “unstuck”. I find that business owners identify their challenges as marketing, sales, or people when the reality is that they struggle with something in their personal growth. My purpose is to help others move forward and grow. The difference is that business is personal. You cannot separate business from your personal life. Your core values will shape the ethics of your leadership style and thus shaping the way you run your business. The thing I am most proud of is the changed lives. The testimonials that come when someone in a private moment tells me how their life has been saved because of a change they made. Nothing inspires me more than seeing the lives changed in ways that are not just financial but in personal areas of family and life.

I do this through workshops, events, keynote speaking, and coaching groups.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many see one facet of my life and think that is all there is. When someone sees me working with kids in one of their building challenges, they don’t see the other application for business and adult training. When I am out on a backpacking trip across Pictured Rocks, they don’t see the months of discipline to train for the hike. When I am up on stage, they don’t see the moments of desperation through those hard times.
