Meet Tiera Lanae of Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiera.

Hi Tiera, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sure, I started with what I had at the time which wasn’t much lol I had a vision and as the famous saying goes I “just did it” there’s no blueprint for entrepreneurship so I just went with what I had and almost 8 years later, here I am.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nooooooo lol it wasn’t smooth but worth it and rewarding! There was a time during Covid that I was supposed to attend a pop up and I had caught Covid 2 weeks prior and I thought oh this isn’t happening. But I tested negative 3 days before the pop-up. I tried to get out of it because I had no time to get marketing materials or produce products. But the idea of not attending the pop up didn’t sit well with me so I took what journals I had and my three children and went to the pop-up. I was late because I hesitated going and upon my arrival all other vendors had so much marketing material and products and then, here I come with my kids and what journals I had. But this is as a signature moment in my life because I sold out of every journal I had within an hour. The other vendors didn’t get one sell and I’m not saying this to be boastful but to highlight that you can feel insignificant but with God and persistence, that is all you need.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I change lives through journaling! The hero product of my company are journals and they are designed to reframe your mind, bring you out of obstacles and give you a new vision of life in the most positive way! Every customer that has patronized my company all have one thing in common and that is; “I’m growing” and that is the mission behind Watered Flowers. These aren’t regular journals, these journals hold people’s future on the page with exercises, inspirational quotes and scripture. I am known for changing lives through my company. One person said “when Tiera talks we listen because we know what she has to say is life changing” those were not my words. So, I know that the mission is being accomplished. What sets me apart is my involvement with these journals. I don’t just sell journals, I teach behind these journals to make sure every woman gets what she needs.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as reaching a point in life where you’re comfortable with the work you’ve put in. Success can be different for everyone but for me; living comfortably for me and my family and the world seeing life through Watered Flowers lens’s is success to me.
