Meet Tiara Tatarczuk of She Thrives

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara Tatarczuk.

Hi Tiara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Michigan and was always active. I played basketball, volleyball, track, and even became one of the youngest ski and snowboard instructors at Pine Knob at 14 years old. Fitness, movement, and pushing myself have always been a part of who I am.

After high school, I attended the University of Michigan and earned a degree in Architecture. While I enjoyed the challenge of design, I eventually realized my passion was helping people transform their lives through health and fitness. That realization happened once I moved to Australia, where I spent the next 11 years building a career as a personal trainer and wellness coach.

During my time in Australia, I earned numerous certifications in strength training, kickboxing, mobility, weight loss, pre- and post-natal fitness, and more. More importantly, I learned that true health goes far beyond aesthetics. It’s about confidence, longevity, resilience, and creating a lifestyle that supports the life you want to live.

I then took my fitness business on the road. I did 2 years of nomad traveling while working with clients virtually as I traveled around the world. About 2 years ago I moved back home to Michigan and rebuilt by brand from the ground up. Like many entrepreneurs, the journey hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had to adapt, reinvent myself, and learn how to grow a business in a completely new environment. Today, I own and operate She Thrives, a health and wellness company focused on helping women improve their fitness, nutrition, recovery, and overall quality of life.

Through personal training, wellness events, retreats, InBody body composition testing, red light therapy, and community-based fitness programs, my mission is to make health feel achievable and sustainable. I believe in training for life first and aesthetics second, helping people build strength, confidence, and habits that support them for years to come.

Looking back, every chapter—from architecture to Australia to entrepreneurship—has shaped the coach and business owner I am today. My goal is simple: help people realize they are capable of more than they give themselves credit for and provide them the tools to thrive.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but I think that’s true for life in general don’t you think?

One of the biggest challenges was moving back to Michigan after spending 11 years in Australia and several years in other countries. I had built a successful career, professional network, and client base overseas, and returning home meant starting over in many ways. Rebuilding a business from scratch in a familiar place that had changed so much over the years was both exciting and humbling.

Like many business owners, I’ve also experienced the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. There have been seasons where growth came quickly and others where I’ve had to adapt, pivot, and rethink my approach. Some months I wasn’t even sure if I was going to make rent! Learning how to balance my passion for helping people with the realities of running a business has been an ongoing lesson.

Personally, I’ve also learned that resilience is one of the most valuable skills an entrepreneur can develop. There have been setbacks, disappointments, and moments where things didn’t go according to plan, and my goodness they rarely ever do. But those experiences have shaped my perspective and ultimately made me a better coach, leader, and business owner.

Would I change any of those challenges? Not a single minute. Each challenge taught me how to be adaptable, each set back taught me how to be resourceful, and now I understand that persistence is what takes me to the next level. These challenges also reinforced the same lesson I teach my clients every day: progress isn’t always linear, but if you keep showing up and taking the next step forward, you can accomplish far more than you think.

As you know, we’re big fans of She Thrives. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
She Thrives is a health and wellness company dedicated to helping women build stronger, healthier, and more confident lives through fitness, nutrition, recovery, and community.

While personal training is a large part of what we do, our mission extends far beyond workouts. We offer personal training, wellness events, retreats, InBody body composition testing, red light therapy, nutrition coaching, and community fitness programs designed to help people create sustainable, long-term health habits.

What sets She Thrives apart is our holistic approach. We believe true wellness isn’t about chasing a number on the scale or following extreme programs. It’s about understanding your body, building strength, improving your health, and creating habits that support the life you want to live. Our philosophy is simple: train for life first and aesthetics second.

One of the things we’re becoming known for is creating educational experiences that make health feel less intimidating. Whether someone is attending a wellness event, stepping on an InBody scanner for the first time, participating in a corporate fitness challenge, or working one-on-one with a coach, our goal is to meet women where they are and give them practical tools they can actually use.

I am especially proud of the community aspect of the brand. Through our Thrive Tribe challenges, wellness workshops, partnerships with local businesses, and community events, we’ve created an environment where women feel supported, encouraged, and connected. Health can often feel overwhelming or isolating, and we’re working to change that.

At its core, She Thrives exists to empower women to take ownership of their health. We want our clients and community members to understand their bodies, celebrate their progress, and recognize that wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about creating a lifestyle that allows them to thrive.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
People are often surprised that I have a degree in Architecture because most people know me as a fitness professional, but my original career path looked very different.

While studying architecture, I developed a love for problem-solving, creativity, and designing systems—all skills that I still use today in my business. The difference is that now I’m helping design healthier lifestyles and wellness experiences instead of buildings.

I also get a lot of raised eyebrows when people find out I have lived in several other states in the US and multiple countries around the world. I caught the travel bug when I was 18 and spent an entire summer in Paris on my own. From then on I was obsessed with how other countries were living so differently from the little town I grew up in. People thought differently, and the way I was viewed life was not “the only way” to live it. I was blown away. Travel had a tremendous impact on both my personal and professional growth. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, exposed me to different perspectives on health and wellness, and ultimately helped shape the coach and business owner I am today.

I think those experiences taught me that growth happens when we’re willing to take risks, embrace change, and stay open to new opportunities—even when they lead us somewhere completely different than we originally planned.
