Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatyana Collins.
Hi Tatyana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Not So Cliche boutique came from a passion for fashion. As a kid, I always wanted to have my own clothing line or become a designer. In 2019 that dream became a reality. We started off with women’s clothing and accessories first and expanded from there. It was one of the proudest moments in my life. To see something that I wanted for so long come to life. Even with the pandemic, we still have found a way to become successful. Now we have a vendor spot in Westland Mall, and we are finally going to brand the business and start the clothing line.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With any business you start, it will never be smooth. With begin in college and having a job, it was a challenge at some times to try to do it all at once. Also, one of the biggest struggles we have faced was marketing the business on social media. Social media today is the best way to market your business. I We had to learn how to market and what platforms we should market on. We still have a lot to learn, but we understand now how it works and how to move about it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Not So Cliche Boutique?
Not So Cliche is a small black own business between mother and daughter. We started off just online-based but started to do vendor events and have a vendor space in Westland mall. We specialize in women’s and men’s clothing from sizes S-3XL and accessories. We are mostly known for our custom croc jibbitz/charms. What sets us apart from other businesses is how fashionable and affordable we are.
What I want the reader to know is that we catered to all sizes and shapes and keep everything looking not so cliche!
