Meet Tanesha Reed of Modern Mogul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanesha Reed

Hi Tanesha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
“I’ve helped thousands of business owners collectively generate millions of dollars using social media alone. I successfully saved $60K in 6 months, quit my full-time job 6 years ago and I now help others do the same.”
Tanesha Reed is a business coach with over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship. She is known for her expertise in business growth and scaling strategies, and is currently a highly sought-after business coach, helping other entrepreneurs achieve their business goals in real life.
Tanesha was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. From an early age, she showed an interest in business and entrepreneurship, often selling items to her classmates at the infamous Cass Tech High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Master’s degree in Human Resources & Organizational Development at Eastern Michigan University, where she honed in on her skills in marketing, entrepreneurship, and business growth strategies.
After graduation, Tanesha worked for several years in corporate America where she was coined one of the fastest growing women in retail after being promoted 13 times in an 8-year span. Even with such a dynamic professional career, Tanesha always knew that she wanted to start her own business.
In 2006 at the tender age of 22, she took her first leap and launched her first venture, a boutique clothing store and barbershop just a mile from her college campus. The store quickly gained a loyal following and grew in popularity, but due to her demanding career the store closed after 18 months of being in business.
In the years following Tanesha went on to launch approximately 10 businesses including, gaining her license as a real estate agent and investor, started a non-profit mentoring program for high-school students, and launched a transportation company transporting kids to and from school just to name a few. Through her hard work, determination, and a keen understanding of marketing, she was able to grow each of these businesses while working full-time and being a stellar employee who directly managed over 125 retail stores (over 30K employees) and their day-to-day store operations.
In 2019, Tanesha decided to quit her full-time corporate job and shifted her focus from building her own business to helping other entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. She was able to create her corporate exit strategy which helped her to save more than $60K in 6 months and positioned her to launch her business coaching practice and marketing agency where she offers personalized coaching and mentorship to business owners looking to grow and scale their businesses. She quickly gained a reputation as a highly effective coach, helping her clients achieve significant growth and success in their businesses. Most recently, she has secured local partnerships with several city agencies (Pontiac, Royal Oak, Southfield, and Madison Heights to name a few) where she will teach local business owners how to grow and scale their business using social media alone.
Today, Tanesha continues to work as a business coach, using her years of experience and expertise to help entrepreneurs internationally achieve their goals. In the last past 6 years she has helped more than 15 business owners successfully generated more than $1Million dollars in net sales each. She is known for her personalized, hands-on approach, taking the time to understand each client’s unique needs and challenges. She is also a sought-after speaker and investor, sharing her insights and advice with audiences at conferences and events across the country. In addition, she is also a devoted single mother, and enjoys spending time with her 10-year old daughter when she is not working.
Overall, Tanesha Reed is a highly accomplished business owner and coach, with a wealth of experience and knowledge in entrepreneurship. Her passion for helping others achieve their goals, combined with her strategic thinking and business acumen, make her a highly valuable resource for any entrepreneur looking to grow and scale their business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. About 15 years ago, I quit my corporate job and ended up returning to work 6 months later. This time around I committed to doing business the right way.

As a introvert, I push myself daily to ensure that I’m not only living out my passion but that I’m helping others to do the same.

We’ve been impressed with Modern Mogul, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is rooted in helping entrepreneurs, corporate teams, and high-level professionals grow their brands, increase profits, and simplify their marketing through proven business and social media strategies. I specialize in business coaching, corporate consulting, speaking engagements, and social media management—offering high-impact solutions that are both actionable and results-driven. What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex strategies into simple steps that generate real, measurable success. I’ve worked with over 2,500 clients across multiple countries, and I’m most proud of building a brand that prioritizes clarity, confidence, and community. Whether I’m speaking on stage, coaching 1:1, or leading a corporate workshop, my goal is always the same: help people think bigger, act smarter, and build sustainable, profitable businesses. I want readers to know that if they’re looking for strategic support, elevated content, and a partner who’s committed to their success—I’m the one they call.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is simple: just start. Don’t wait until everything is perfect or you feel 100% ready—because the truth is, clarity comes with action. You’ll grow as you go, and every step will teach you something valuable. I also wish I had known earlier how important it is to build a strong network and team. You don’t have to do everything alone. Surround yourself with people who challenge you, support your vision, and bring strengths that complement yours. Entrepreneurship isn’t a solo journey—collaboration, connection, and community will take you further than hustle alone.
