Today we’d like to introduce you to Talisha Beeman
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My makeup journey begin in 2018 I never had my makeup professionally done at time in my life. it was my 23rd birthday I really wanted to look fabulous so I studied looks on YouTube all Day I’m a visual learner I picked up on lots of techniques and the foundation of makeup application from
YouTube so I decided to grab everything I needed from Ulta and Sephora from there I took on the aspiring makeup Artist role it became a passion of mine I started showcasing my potential by accepting people as models, collaborating with my hairstylist friends on different looks to now working out of my suite in Detroit, MI
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was definitely not a smooth one. Being an entrepreneur you must have tough skin. I’m a makeup Artist who considers professional makeup as a luxury. I know that it’s not an everyday needed service unless you’re in the entertainment industry or have a lifestyle that requires you to have a glam team. With that being said there has been down times clientele does fluctuate, there are slow seasons. I had to find other ways to market my makeup business to keep clients coming in.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Makeup Artist based out of Detroit, MI I specialize in Soft glam makeup , brow tinting services, eyelash services etc. I’m known for my soft glam makeup applications. I’m most proud of having the motivation to keep going and gain a loyal clientele. What sets me apart from others makeup artists is that I’m into skin care first I recently attended school to become an esthetician and studying skin goes hand in hand with putting on makeup. I’m a makeup Artist who cares and is concerned about the health of your skin.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
God most importantly also My clients are my biggest supporters! Along with a host of hairstylists friends who been in the beauty industry for over 10 years. I’ve connected with a lot of women entrepreneurs in this industry who didn’t gatekeep and provided me with all the information I needed to market myself and become successful at what I do. There is no particular individual I want to give credit to while I do appreciate the support during my journey.
