Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Todd
Hi Steven, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
2 Much Junk was birthed in march of 2024 when after being employed at a corporate waste management company, My wife and I seen a opportunity to fill a gap in customer service in this industry, as well we began seeing opportunity to save items and place them back in the community rather than dumping them in the landfill. So at 2 Much Junk? we remove items of all sorts from single items to complete property clean outs, construction debris removal, small demo and so much more with the intention to provide our community with top notch customer service, but it doesn’t stop there we sort through the items removed and donate the donatable items to local charities. We understand that life can be busy and complicated so we believe in keeping our process simple our customers simply point and we do the rest from bagging items, lifting, loading and haul away. That way our customers can place their time where it matters most.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our biggest obstacle has been building awareness of a new to the area junk removal business rather than the familiar dumpster self loading that our area is accustomed to. Even though we have been building a name quite fast it is not uncommon for most to call a dumpster service as there are still many that are unfamiliar a service like ours is available within our community.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
2 Much Junk is a local, family owned junk removal business. We specialize in removal from single items, furniture, appliances, construction debris, e waste, garbage, property clean outs, small demo such as hot tubs, sheds pools and much more. With our services we believe in keeping it simple and stress free, our customers point and we do the rest. As a local company we believe in community that’s why our prices are kept affordable and we sort through items and donate and recycling what can be keeping our area clean and environmentally safe avoiding the landfill as much as possible.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe my biggest risk happened when I left my job last year, not seeing much if any competition in our area. After investing my savings into an old box truck and putting the time into painting it and making all our marketing materials. It was then when I realized I’m all in or nothing so to speak, and that’s when we begin to get hit with snow storms and no calls but regardless we continued to push through and believe the risk is always worth it in the end.
