Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Morrow
Rebecca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I got married to my husband in 2015 we could not find a bakery that would create dessert options for us that contained ingredients that were more environmentally and politically mindful. I had been baking since a young age so when we needed additional income, I decided to start a cottage food bakery from my home Kitchen that focused on using quality ingredients like free-range eggs, and bleach-free flour. Incorporating other ingredients that are more sustainable whenever possible, including those made by B-corporations.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like with any business, even a small at-home bakery can have its struggles. Over the years we have navigated several power outages and everything that goes along with that. Of course, we all remember 2020 and grocery shortages. At home bakers like myself get our ingredients from regular stores just like everyone else so we shut down completely. I could not in good conscience go buy up all the butter and eggs to make a celebratory cake knowing it may leave a family without necessities. Then there was the slug infestation of 2021. Yes, you read that right, slugs! One of our ducts in the floor collapsed and those little guys worked their way into our home to party, and to make it smell like a swamp. No one wants frosting that tastes like that, yuck! We had to redo all of our ductwork and replace and our furnace before we could operate again.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I enjoy the opportunity to create something new all the time. But if I had to pick a specialty it would be buttercream florals. There is just something so beautiful about a cake or cupcake cultivated to look like realistic flowers. That or a good rustic design just like grandma would make it.
I am very proud of my work with For Goodness Cakes. A nonprofit organization that gives underprivileged youth the chance to have a birthday by matching volunteers to bake special cakes just for them. I have donated 21 bakes this year and hope to fit in a few more. Looking for a great charity to donate to this holiday season? This is it.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think hard work and talent are the driving factors of my success. But luck has created opportunities for me by introducing me to some of the right people at the right time in their lives allowing me to create regular clients that have stayed with me through their weddings, showers, and now all their children’s birthdays.
