Driven by a passion for helping others, I take pride in guiding clients through purchasing their first home, a vacation property, or an investment opportunity as a real estate professional. I’m equally dedicated to assisting clients in selling their homes, striving to achieve the highest possible price while keeping their best interests in mind. My commitment to helping both home buyers and sellers make informed decisions led me to establish my own brokerage, Realify Properties, in November 2013.
I founded Realify Properties to address unfair practices at other brokerages, such as inconsistent fees and hidden costs. My vision was to create a brokerage based on the principles and values that led to my own success. Known for my honesty and candor, I infused these qualities into my company, striving to deliver “sugar-free real estate facts.” This means presenting facts and issues without sugarcoating and always telling the truth.
While my passion for helping others is unwavering, I didn’t initially pursue a career in real estate. In 2003, I worked in sales until a family tragedy changed my life. After losing my sister to homicide, I became dedicated to protecting people from those who sought to harm or exploit them. Seeking a new beginning, I moved to Colorado and took a job as a corrections officer at a supermax prison facility in Denver. Although seemingly different from my current role, the experience taught me teamwork, stress management, and remaining calm under pressure. After my son’s birth, I returned to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Back in Michigan, I attended Grand Valley State University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in health communications and a minor in marketing. I became a part-time real estate agent in October 2012, quickly discovering a new passion. “I sold 43 homes in my first year, and it became a newfound passion,” I recalled. “I was able to help and advise people on their home sales or purchases—potentially the biggest investments of their lives.”
I have built an impressive career in real estate, with a total career volume of over $130 million, including $16 million in 2022 alone. Invited as a keynote speaker at the Zillow Premier Agent event in Las Vegas, I shared my expertise on customer acquisition and retention.
Outside of work, I cherish time with my family, enjoying travel, boating, and outdoor activities with my husband, Stephen, and our two children, Ben and Ellie.

Throughout my journey as a real estate professional, I have faced numerous challenges that have shaped my brokerage, Realify Properties, into the successful business it is today. Transitioning from a career in sales and corrections to real estate, I had to adapt to a new environment and learn new skills. Overcoming industry obstacles, such as unfair practices at other brokerages, inspired me to create a company based on honesty, integrity, and transparency.

I built a solid team of agents who shared my vision and values, providing them with tools, training, and support to succeed in the competitive real estate market. Despite the challenges, I am proud of my accomplishments, including a total career volume of over $130 million. Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I believe the real estate industry will continue to evolve and adapt over the next 5-10 years. One significant trend we’ve seen is the increasing reliance on technology for both buyers and sellers. Clients are starting their home search online, often well before they even contact a real estate agent. I envision a future where virtual reality and augmented reality tools become more commonplace, allowing clients to explore homes and neighborhoods from the comfort of their own devices.
Additionally, I believe the importance of a strong online presence will only grow in the coming years as more clients rely on reviews, ratings, and digital portfolios to select their real estate agents. Partnering with major websites like Zillow, Realtor.com, and Redfin is crucial, as these platforms significantly influence how properties are discovered and marketed. Working with a brokerage that understands search algorithms and the importance of listing content syndication ensures that our client’s homes receive maximum exposure and attract the right buyers.
The industry will also see an increased focus on personal branding as realtors strive to differentiate themselves and appeal to their target markets. Aligning with a brokerage that has a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies will be essential in staying ahead of the competition.
