Meet Rebeca Zamora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebeca Zamora.

Hi Rebeca, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, hi! My name is Rebeca Zamora, and I have always had an eye for detail, a longing to bring a story to life. I began shooting photography for fun, here and there. When I came into the opportunity to take on Weddings, I quickly realized it was something I truly loved doing. The absolute chaos the morning of, the rush, and the emotions, all to come to a sweet ending dancing the night away. It seriously never gets old capturing two-in-love human beings on the best day of their lives. After my first year of weddings, I spent the next mostly shadowing another wedding photographer aiming to perfect my craft. I also dove into another skill which is videography! I now offer both services to my wedding clients. The creative challenge truly drives me! I will be spending this year (2023) fully booked for weddings, both photo & video. I couldn’t be happier!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a lot of learning and adjusting. The learning curve is realizing that no wedding day is the same and there will likely always be a few bumps in the day. You have to learn to adapt and make it a beautiful memory for your couple and to avoid all stressful situations. As a photo/videographer, you strive to capture their day, but you also play many other roles of creating a smooth, dreamy day for the couple. The editing has been a huge part of the struggle, I’d say. I am very picky with my work; I hand-edit each image, but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a West Michigan Wedding Photographer + Videographer. I specialize in Couples, Engagement, and Wedding portraits and films. I am known for my attention to detail, tremendous love for LOVE, and my fly on the wall approach. I am most proud of myself, honestly. I have always been more on the shy side, and growing as a photographer has really helped me to open up my shell and encourages me to learn new things daily. I would say my attention to detail is what sets me apart most, I care about my couples and their day and do everything I can to incorporate that into their album.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
That you can’t rush knowledge. You can read and read, but truly, it comes with time. This field of work is really hands-on as well.
