Meet Racer DeBoard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Racer DeBoard.  

Hi Racer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At a young age, I developed an immense amount of motivation for success. Throughout middle school, I played 5 sports consecutively and was extremely active. I went from one practice to another daily, season to season. During the fall I would run 4 miles every day at cross country practice and then leave directly to football practice. With that being said, I was extremely busy all the time and always on the go. This period of my life developed my work ethic and time management. Furthermore, this caused me to be extremely competitive. Continuing to be competitive has opened many doors for me and allowed me to be successful in many aspects of my life. Alongside being competitive, I would consider myself very helpful and caring. I was raised by a single mother who has always taught me to put others first. My mother runs three autism centers and through volunteering, at her centers, I have learned that helping others is very positive for oneself. A final word that I would use to describe myself is creative. I come from a very artistic and ingenuities family and this has led me to many professional goals and the work that I am most passionate about. I call it an alternate reality in control of the beholder. A reality in which one can create whatever they please. A complex combination of a million pixels. The object behind all the magic is a camera. This is a section I used in my college admission essay and most recently in a video scholarship application where I was awarded a full-tuition business scholarship to study Marketing and Advertising at the Colangelo Business School within Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. To continue, I developed a passion for videography and marketing through digital creation at around age 13. As I began to master the skills of networking, communication, and my craft, I quickly turned this hobby into a business. Fast forward 4 years and I have done work for 20+ companies and recently completed a dream job of mine, working for a Forbes writer alongside Rolls Royce. I have also worked for many music venues and artists including 2 Chainz, Zack Bia, Chantel Jeffries, and more. I am extremely passionate about my occupation and I believe that if one loves what they do then they will never work a day in their life. Don’t get me wrong, I still work very hard on every project that I am presented with. I started with small companies in my area and scaled to bigger corporations in Detroit and the surrounding areas. As to future goals, I am connected with many creators across the country and hope to bring them together one day by creating my own media/marketing agency. I am a strong believer that one can do anything they put their mind to and this very belief can contribute to a monumental amount of success. In summary, I am very proud of what I have accomplished to date, yet I’m nowhere near satisfied and very excited for what the future holds. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In my opinion, no success story is ever smooth. In life, many people can be handed things but true success is achieved through hard work, grit, blood, sweat, and tears. I consider myself very fortunate compared to others, but I’ve never been handed things. My mother always taught me that achievements and rewards are earned through hard work and dedication.
