Meet Patricia Yiu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Yiu.

Hi Patricia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been deeply connected to my intuition. I was the “weird” child: talking to herself, hugging trees, and following butterflies. Can you relate?

It was very easy for me to read the subtleties in other people and to know how they were feeling, from their body language to the energy of their unspoken words.

When I was about 15, I became obsessed with metaphysics, energy healing, spirituality and, every Friday after school, I would go to this little library in downtown Gravataí and rent out new books.

As I became more and more intuitive, I also felt more lonely in my own world of energy, auras, chakras, and all things woo that no one around me could understand.

Slowly, that part that felt more real than the “real” world around me was shoved in the background amidst life, college, work, family, and children.

As life went on, I moved from Brazil to China with my husband, and life was great. Everything seemed perfect from the outside. Until one November morning in 2010, after dropping off my 3 boys to the school bus, I looked at myself in the mirror that I’ve passed 10 times a day, and I just felt empty.

Nada. I could not recognize the woman looking at me any longer.

My knees dropped to the ground, and for the first time in a long time, I sobbed for almost an hour, terrified for not being able to remember the last time I felt like myself.

At that moment, my soul whispered, “it is time, my darling,” and I knew exactly what I needed to do: I needed to heal my childhood wounds and reconnect to my spirituality to find myself again.

Funny how it’s so easy – especially for us women, to lose the most authentic, innate parts of ourselves in order to fit in and match other people’s expectations…

Since then, I’ve been on this incredible journey of remembrance and integration of parts of myself that got lost in the way, finding my voice again, recovering my talents and honoring my true purpose, and helping hundred of women around the world accelerate their healing journey.

With 15 years immersed in Personal, Spiritual & Professional Evolution, I’m a Spiritual Guide, an Energy Healer, a Speaker and, a soon-to-be Published Author.

I’ve been living in Ann Arbor, Michigan with my husband, 3 boys, and 2 dogs since 2014.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To me, life is a big school, and our job, as Oprah says is to “Figure out, as soon as possible what your calling is, who you were meant to be, and begin to honor that in the best way possible for yourself.”

I believe that there’s only lessons to be learned so we can become more of who we are and fulfill our Purpose.

Moving to China from Brazil was one of my biggest challenges, as you can imagine: leaving my roots, family, friends, and everything familiar to me behind to, literally, another world: a new language, culture, and a whole new way of being.

I felt overwhelmed at first and still remember my first trip to the wet market, where, on one side there were vegetable and fruit stands and, on the other, there were chicken and rabbits hanging upside down – thank God I soon discovered Carrefour after that!

I feel like my 11 years living there taught me great lessons in humility, patience, and respect. It was also the time in my life that I grew the most and realized that I was much stronger and resilient than I believed myself to be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Having an innate nurturing and intuitive side, it’s very easy for me to read people, I guess it’s no surprise that I ended by becoming a Spiritual Guide.

Having worked with hundreds of women around the world, I’ve noticed that no matter their background, race, religion, nationality, we all share the same pains and desires: the “I don’t feel like myself anymore” and the “I feel like I’m meant for something greater but, I have no idea where to start.”

With more than 9 certifications in different holistic modalities of therapy, I’m able to connect to my client’s Spiritual Guides and tailor a healing journey that is unique to them.

I’m so proud to be able to offer this kind of personalized work in a world where everything is automated or in a cookie-cutter model.

I love the long-term friendship that I establish with my clients. We go to each other’s birthdays and weddings, and, in a way, we become this beautiful sisterhood, supporting each other on our healing journeys.

Currently, I offer Family Constellations Therapy, Akashic Records Readings and Access Bars Sessions, DNA Activations, both in-person (at The Enlightened Center in Ann Arbor) and; online.

I’m happy to announce an upcoming Family Constellations in-person Retreat, in East Lansing coming up in May! Follow me on Instagram @patriciayiu to secure your spot.

How do you define success?
To me, success is being able to look at yourself in the mirror and know that you are doing your very best to live at your fullest potential from a place of worthiness and deep self-love.

It seems very simple, but it’s an everyday practice: to be true to yourself, to what you believe in, to show up in the world from a place of honoring who you really are, and to set healthy boudnaries that allow your emotional well-being.

Keep on showing up, do the work and give yourself permission to become everything that you came her for and, if you need a community of like-minded women to share your journey, reach out, sister. You are not alone.
