Meet Nesh – the owner of R Luxx Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nesh Hunt.  

Hi Nesh, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Ronecia Hunt. I am an event planner, author, and mother. Since as early as I could remember, I’ve always had an eye for design (for anything), and I’ve always loved to write. Lol, I would literally just write anything – my plans, my goals, things I wanted and I collected journals. I think I realized this, maybe around 7/8th grade. My book, Healing, Growth, and Forgiveness: 21-Day Devotional, is a 21-day devotional for the Millennial Mom. My love for writing and planning, along with design, would soon develop me into becoming an event planner. 

My family would have small events when I was growing up, on certain holidays, and I loved rolling the plastic silverware in the napkins making sure they were placed beautifully lol, setting the place settings, and placing decorations out on the tables, and this was a smaller scale, but nonetheless, I always loved it. 

One day in 2017, I helped a family friend with an event and I loved everything about it. The planning, setting up, running around, putting ideas together, the DIY aspect of it all – and it was a lot because her theme was kind of older, so it wasn’t many of those party supplies around, so a lot of the items were handcrafted and she had a tight budget. So, this helped me to learn to plan (which was something I’ve always done). But this helped me to learn to plan efficiently and also helped me to be more creative and pivot. After that event, I just kind of kept going from there, I wasn’t always consistent, but I actually became consistent in 2020. Fast forward to 2022, R Luxx Events will be turning 2 years old in July! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not always a smooth road at all. and in fact, it still isn’t, but at the point, I’m at now, I just keep going. Some struggles for me were learning my niche in the field that I was in. Taking the time to constantly learn and keep up with a forever progressing market and the hardest one of all, simply believing in myself! Also, just realizing that 99% of your support won’t come from the people who you would expect it to and realizing that, that is okay.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
The only resource that helps me do my absolute best in life, is prayer. Outside of that, what helps me to stay focused is trying my best to stick to my day-to-day routine and creating structure in my life. That helps me to be stronger in the areas where I’m needed most. For example, being a mom, running my business, etc. I do enjoy reading and listening to podcasts, and journaling. Journaling helps me to keep my mind clear.
