Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Savin.
Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Michelle! I’m a licensed cosmetologist residing in Ann Arbor Michigan. From 2017- 2023 I was living in Grand Rapids Michigan doing nails at bliss nail bar under Shawn west. He truly taught me everything I know. From 2023-2024 I tried out booth renting downtown Ypsilanti although it didn’t end up working out it was a good learning experience and I’d love for thst to be my ultimate long term goal again. I currently am employed at Bella Nina day spa although the spa is moving and shifting directions with their service menu and I I need unfortunately will not be with them anymore but I have absolutely loved my time with them! The clients and boss are truly amazing!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. I used to work back in the day 6 days a week taking all the clients I could trying to better my craft and I’m still learning! My number one thing I want to improve is my speed and my cartoon nail art. I’m good at what I do but I’m definately a slower nail tech
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in acrylic nails. They are hands down my favorite thing to do, creating all the art and glitter to cater to everybody’s needs and ideas/dreams and making their nails come to life is what I live for. Also ive taught with Shawn west twice in Grand Rapids and metro Detroit and absolutely loved bonding with the students and helping them master the craft
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Honestly I know I keep mentioning him but Shawn West and my parents. I wouldn’t be anywhere without the support they’ve all had for me. Shawn truly taught me everything I know about everything nails. I knew the basics when he took me on in 2017 and as the business grew so did my talent, understanding and appreciation of the whole industry.
