Today we’d like to introduce you to Meagan Wood.
Hi Meagan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story begins in 2012 after meeting my (now) husband, Adam, a fitness and health + wellness passionate. He’s a natural-born leader, all I did was watch him, taking mental notes of his habits and routines, asking him why he did what he did, how it made him feel, just getting to know him. After applying some of those things to my own life, I was hooked and developed my own passion for the world of wellness and self-care.
Fast forward 8 years and two babies later, I decided to merge my passion for wellness and degree in psychology by becoming an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and starting my own coaching firm.
I’ve known from a very young age that I was meant to help change people’s lives and I finally found the vehicle to do that. Which feels really, really good.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a virtual coaching business in the midst of an explosive global pandemic has been no sunset sail. Challenging myself to learn about online marketing, specifically social media management, content creation, and engagement tracking have been the biggest uphill climbs for me. Marketing is not my strong suit so investing in my business by hiring people who are much more well equipped than I am has helped lift the common burden most solo founders face: wearing all the hats and doing EVERYTHING in and for the business. I learned early on that I’m of best use when working inside my genius zone and to let the other professionals do the rest. It’s saved me a whole lot of stress and has greatly protected me from new business burnout and overwhelm feeling like I have to know/do/be everything all the time.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is founded upon the teachings of integrative nutrition yes, but what makes what I do at Berries & Water unique and unlike any other health coaching services on the market is that I include self-development work for all of my clients. To me, you can’t be truly healthy if you’re unhappy, stressed, and overwhelmed, no matter what you put in your mouth, it’s just not possible. Here, we go beyond the food on your plate and arrive at a place of self-discovery, joy, and freedom. It’s really beautiful, transformative work and I’m grateful every day for my clients who bravely share the ups and downs of their world with me. The level of trust I’ve been able to establish with my clients is honorary and deeply humbling.
If anyone reading this has ever struggled with strapping into an emotional rollercoaster ride every time they’ve said “my diet starts on Monday” and it’s been years of Mondays later…let’s talk. We have ONE chance to live this life; let’s live it well and make it beautiful. It’s never too late to bloom.
