Meet MacKenzie Galloway

Today we’d like to introduce you to MacKenzie Galloway.

Hi MacKenzie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Before even turning the age of one, I could speak in full sentences. I wrote my first book at six years old got my first job at 11 years old and became an on-air broadcast journalist at 11 years old. I’ve always been different, having opinions that didn’t meet the likes of others and always questioning things that people told me and “truths” that I was supposed to accept. I also always had a gift of telling the future and predicting things long before that happened. In addition, I was always able to detect energies and pick up on personalities. I started reading “horoscopes” at the age of 10 and instantly became interested in the science of astrology. I started using my dad’s telescope to look at the stars and planets. Over the years, that love developed into an advanced knowledge of astrology. In addition, my writing skills developed, and I am now a screenwriter and filmmaker, and I have a brand called Conscious Creations. Under this brand, I sell products like jewelry, candles, and zodiac bathing suits, make films, podcasts and meditations, and articles.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! As a Black woman, I am no stranger to adversity. I have always had to work harder than most of my peers. While that has been frustrating, it has come naturally because I’ve been trained to do so since I was young. A lot of people have not believed in me, so I’ve always thrived on the belief I have in myself. Which has always motivated me to go harder.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a screenwriter, producer, astrologist, anthropologist, journalist, amongst many things. I am most proud of my filmmaking. Writing, shooting, filming, editing, promoting your material all by yourself is far from easy. When I first started doing it was extremely difficult but once I got the hang of it, I was so proud of myself and I even won in award for best news broadcast video just a few months after I started filming on my own. What sets me apart from others is my unique perspective. I have a decolonized mind which I could say that most people do not. I am also a very conscious person who is always asking questions and is always searching for deeper meanings in deeper truths. You can really see that in my creation.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family specifically my parents have been my biggest supporters and motivators. I watched both of my parents start their own businesses doing the things that they love and it has always inspired me to pursue but I love no matter what anyone else tries to tell me for or if people tried to discourage me. All of the people that I hope close in my life have been supportive of me and trust me, those who have not been supportive of me are not in my life.
