Hi Lozjana, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my love for charcuterie after working at a cute wine bar during college in Grand Rapids. I began creating boards on my own and enjoyed doing it. It became the talk of the parties and soon enough decided that making them for others was even more fun! I was in my head about opening my business which prolonged me from launching it. I finally decided to trademark the name Board It. It is much easier to doubt yourself, but when you don’t, great things start happening! Board It has two business partners now with a lot of growth and opportunities planned for the future.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road getting to where I am. With every business there are challenges, but how you get through them is what matters most. It has been an obstacle keeping up with the market. The more you succeed, the more competitors notice – and react to – what you are doing. Another struggle is having both my business and my corporate job and prioritizing each when needed.
As you know, we’re big fans of Board It. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Board It is a charcuterie business that will board anything you’d like! Our slogan is: you name it, we board it. We specialize in providing a wonderful experience for our customers by offering a variety of different boards from our original meat and cheese boards to brunch, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, date night, birthdays, and much more kinds of boards. What sets us apart from others is we offer every holiday, event, and catering types of boards.
Board it has been featured in wedding mornings, bridal showers, and baby showers. We are able to not only deliver a charcuterie board but we can also cater with a grazing board!
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I’d love to collaborate with local stores/shops and do a pop-up. Also, giveaways and Collabs with companies locally.
