Hi Lowena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
When it comes to my brand Eighty-Seven Ten Dispatch, LLC I got started from walking away from a career field I never thought I would walk away from which was Nursing. After the world faced a traumatic time of COVID-19 and myself being a Frontliner worker seeing every obstacle as a Patient Care Technician at Henry Ford Hospital Main Campus and Nursing Student at Oakland it made me question my true career path. Working in the medical field for over 10 years made me wanted to do something on my own and start my own legacy by helping others in a different type of way, but I could not quite put my mind to what it was that would have been a huge need in America. As I begin to do more research, I figured the next needed field was Trucking & Logistics. I just didn’t know if I wanted to become a Truck Driver or Dispatcher either way I wanted to gained new skills that I will be passionate about and something to call my own, so I can pass it down to my children and give jobs to people so they can help provide more for their families and be in a stress-free job environment by doing so. I had many influencers during this journey as I stepped out to begin my journey of breaking generational curses with my daughter being the biggest influence, but what really pushed me into dispatching and starting my own Independent Dispatching Service was Alix Burton of Good Energy. He showed his audiences that it was possible to run a trucking business without owning your own trucks so that was the last piece of the puzzle for me to go and move forward.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a newly Entrepreneur it’s definitely has been many different challenges/obstacles because this was something new to me in the beginning. But the dedicated and hard-working person that I am, it gave me challenges to overcome and inspire me more to know that my power in doing anything I want and actually putting my mind to achieve and overcome whatever obstacles are thrown my way.

Here at Eighty-Seven Ten Dispatch, we are a Nationwide Independent Dispatching Service for all Truckers such as Owner Operators, New Motor Carriers with Active Authority, and Small Fleet Owners. When it comes to our clients, we make sure that we run our operations the smoothest way so the travels of our drivers/clients can be calm and hassle-free. So again here at Eighty-Seven Ten Dispatch we provide Nationwide Dispatching, Carrier Packet Setup, Top Rate Negotiations, 24/7 Support if needed, Load Planning so travels can be smooth, Broker Credit Checks to make sure we are working with efficient and great Brokers for our clients, Invoicing, Factoring Setup if needed, Back Office Record Keeping, not to mention we contact brokers on the behalf of our clients to acquire information on available freight and conditions. We do all of this so that our clients can stay focus on driving and having a safe commute while our company handles all of their back-office work. What set us apart is that we are not only divergent, but we go above and beyond due to our family dynamic towards our clients/drivers. We make it our priority to build successful work relationships that’s built on strong communication and teamwork as well, which makes us set aside from other Independent Dispatching companies. When it comes to my brand, I’m proud that I actually stepped out on faith to move forward with a vision that I only could see and actually put forth movement toward my start of building generational wealth and being the first in my generation to break a generational curse for my family.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The only advice I can give to someone who is just starting out is to keep going. Even when times gets hard, frustrating, and challenging keep going because eventually, it will get better. No matter the timeframe, if it’s a dream/vision of yours put the hard work and dedication into it, and it will definitely be a something you can be proud of which will be a brand of greatness because you did it!
