Lisette, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I founded FindArt, a boutique art advisory, with the intention to help people acquire art they will cherish. I am driven by my passion for art and interiors along with my joy in collaborating with clients, artists, galleries and interior designers. The art world can be intimidating and through my consult, art collecting becomes more approachable and enjoyable. My goal is to elevate great design with beautifully diversified art collections that personalize a space and give it soul.
I hold a degree in Fine Art from Albion College, and I attended Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy where I studied Art history, ceramics, painting, sculpture, and fiber. I have been helping clients locally and nationwide by offering a full service client experience that connects people with evocative art they love to live with everyday.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, the art acquisition process posed its challenges. People came to me for art with the mindset that they will never understand or appreciate art in a meaningful way. Some even believed they had no taste in art. When I worked with these new collectors, I realized that guiding them through the process required a nuanced approach that respected their new artistic journey. I had to move them away from the idea that finding a piece of art must be love at first sight. I needed them to not focus so much on whether or not they liked a piece but rather do they find it interesting. I encouraged them to articulate why certain pieces resonated with them. I explained that understanding the artists creative process, their backstory, is a great way to feel a connection with the artwork. Art is very personal. Helping new collectors understand this is both challenging and rewarding. Matchmaking clients with artwork they feel connected to is what I do, and it is why my clients continue to work with me today.

FindArt is a full service boutique art advisory firm that helps clients nationwide acquire art. I specialize in new acquisitions, re-curation of existing works, eclectic gallery walls and family photo walls. FindArt holds no inventory, therefore I am able to acquire art from around the globe. I work with new and seasoned collectors, residential and commercial clients and interior designers. The process begins with an initial consultation where we talk over the roll the artwork will play in the space. Goals are discussed, budgets are broached and, if needed, what to do with existing works. If a client is interested, gallery and artist studio visits can be part of the acquisition process. Ultimately this culminates in a presentation of curated works for the space. Once the selections have been made, framing, transport and installation is addressed. My approach is personalized and engaging-it is my strong suit. Relating to the client allows me to suggest what might be the perfect piece or pieces for the project. Success to me is seeing my clients select evocative artwork that they are excited to live with every day.
